Principal Business Process Improvement Analyst leads efforts to evaluate, design, and improve business processes to drive efficiency, quality, and operational performance. This role partners with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and support sustainable process improvements aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma). • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes. • Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams. • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. • Collects data to identify root cause of problems. • Measures performance against process requirements. • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality. • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control. • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes. • Communicates team progress. • Performs cost and benefit analyses.
Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Lean / Operational Excellence • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (Master Black Belt preferred) • Certified Value Stream Mapping (Current State / Future State Design) • Kaizen Event Facilitation Expert • MPS (Medtronic Performance System) deployment experience • Tier Management System design and governance • Leader Standard Work development and auditing • Shop Floor Management and Daily Management System expertise • Flow Acceleration and Lead Time Reduction experience • Hoshin Kanri / Strategy Deployment knowledge • Change Management certification (Prosci or equivalent)
Manufacturing & Machining Expertise • Machining manufacturing process knowledge (CNC, tooling, setup reduction, capacity analysis) • Experience with OEE improvement programs • Bottleneck and constraint management (TOC) • Factory layout and material flow optimization • Labor productivity improvement projects • Standard work and work balancing experience • Scrap, yield, and rework reduction programs • Manufacturing cost reduction and burden improvement initiatives • Capacity modeling and throughput analysis
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
