Purpose:

Texas Athletics Swimming & Diving is looking for a Student Manager for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Student Manager will be an essential member of the department’s team who will assist the Swimming & Diving team with daily administrative duties as assigned, daily video capture of team practices, uploading video footage for review by coaches and athletes, washing team laundry, assigning team issued gear to athletes and staff, etc. This position will report to the Swimming & Diving Director of Operations.

Responsibilities: • Assist in setup and clean-up of all equipment and stations before and after practice • Set up, operation, and upload of daily practice and competition video recording • Assist with the processing of laundry services following games and practices • Assist with the inventory and processing of team issued apparel and gear • Provide team support at all home and away competitions as designated by coaches and Director of Operations. • Assist with restocking of team nutrition station in locker room • Partake in occasional team travel   • Follow all NCAA, conference and team rules and regulations • Perform other duties as assigned • Consistently exemplify the core values and quality standards of Texas Athletics. Always act ethically. Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. As an employee of the university, if you witness or receive information about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking that involves a current student or employee, you have a duty to promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Reports may be made by phone, email or online. An employee who does not report an incident or who makes a false report is subject to termination and may be charged with a criminal offense (Class A or Class B misdemeanor). Required Qualifications: • Ability to work well in a team environment • Demonstrate strong interest and passion for Texas Athletics • Demonstrated success in dependability and responsibility • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin enrolled in at least 12 class hours each semester (NCAA Requirement) • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications: • Pursuing a degree or career in a sports-related field • Experience and/or knowledge of swimming • Experience in intercollegiate athletics and/or as a student-manager for a sports team

Salary Range: • $9.00+/hour depending on qualifications/relevant experience

Working Conditions: • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation • Use of manual dexterity • Climbing of stairs • Climbing of ladders • Some heavy lifting may be required • May work around standard office conditions • Some heavy lifting and moving up to 50lbs. may be required • Required to wear Texas gear at all competitions

Work Shift: • Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 (Rehire based on performance) • Work to be performed in-person, on campus, and is not eligible for remote work • Must be available to attend practices and competitions • Must be able to work afternoons; some early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
