Ensure   High Quality   Corrective Action Implementation (Prevention and Impact)

• Track and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions globally,   maintaining   clear accountability and visibility.

• Challenge   low impact   or administrative corrective actions and elevate action quality by promoting stronger, more effective measures that address system level risks through engineering and systemic controls.

• Ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively,   validated , and sustained over time.

• Ensure actions related to human factors, training gaps, or procedural weaknesses are incorporated into training programs, onboarding, and competency requirements .

Own Safety Metrics and Leadership Reporting (Clarity and Transparency)

• Own   T&I   safety metrics, dashboards, and reporting processes for leadership updates.

• Develop clear, audit ready views of incident trends, repeat events, corrective action effectiveness, and leading indicators.

• Provide   regular insights to   T&I   and site leadership to enable proactive decision making and risk mitigation.

• Ensure alignment of   T&I   metrics with broader EHS frameworks while   maintaining   focus on   T&I   specific risks.

• Define and   maintain   a global   T&I   safety training and competency matrix aligned to role, hazard exposure, and work activities, ensuring clear requirements for all personnel, contractors, and visitors.

• Establish standardized processes to assess training effectiveness,   identify   skill gaps, and drive targeted upskilling across the   T&I   organization.

• Reinvigorate   T&I   safety onboarding programs to ensure new employees are fully prepared to   operate   safely, with emphasis on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and site-specific risks prior to independent work.

• Implement mechanisms to verify competency and understanding, not just training completion, particularly for high-risk activities and environments.

Enable a “Safety Always” Culture (Engagement and Influence)

• Promote an environment where incident reporting, near miss identification, and learning are expected and reinforced.

• Drive adoption of lessons learned to prevent recurrence of similar events across sites and programs.

• Reinforce accountability, transparency, and continuous learning following safety events.

• Drives the organization’s safety culture by embedding continuous improvement, encouraging learning from experience, and driving ongoing enhancement of safety practices.

Leverage Digital and AI Enabled Safety Innovation (Forward Looking and Scalable)

• Identify   and deploy opportunities to integrate AI and digital tools into laboratory and work area safety routines.

• Enhance how safety data is captured, analyzed, and acted upon through automation and advanced analytics.

• Partner with digital, IT, and EHS teams to scale solutions that improve hazard identification, trend analysis, and decision support.

• Drive continuous improvement in safety systems and workflows through technology enablement.

Operate Across a Global, Cross Functional Environment

• Serve as a central coordination point across   T&I , EHS, Quality, Operations, and site leadership.

• Align closely with global EHS partners to ensure consistency, compliance, and shared best practices.

• Work across regions and time zones to ensure consistent expectations and execution globally.

• Facilitate alignment on priorities, ownership, and timelines for corrective actions and lessons learned.

Share and Scale Best Practices Across the Enterprise

• Identify , document, and   disseminate   safety best practices across   T&I   and into the broader enterprise.

• Enable   cross site   and   cross functional   learning to accelerate adoption of proven safety improvements.

• Act as a connector between sites to ensure learnings are not isolated and are broadly   leveraged .
