The Experience

San Francisco, CA | Palo Alto, CA | Bellevue, WA

Technical Program Managers (TPMs) lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across Salesforce's Technology & Products organizations, owning programs from initiation through closure. The Director, Technical Program Management - Trust & Infrastructure will lead strategic programs focused on service availability, incident prevention and recovery, and operational resilience, including programs supporting Hyperforce, Salesforce's infrastructure product built on third-party public cloud providers. This role partners with leadership across Engineering, Customer Enablement, Legal, Product, Security, and Operations to improve service availability and deliver value to customers. This is a fast-paced, global-scale environment with a steady stream of high-severity incidents and emerging risks, where communication, sound judgment, and ownership are essential to success.

What You'll Actually Be Doing   • Lead complex technical programs from initiation through closure, defining scope, vision, goals, structure, milestones, dependencies, governance, and success criteria. • Lead large-scale availability programs focused on incident prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and reducing recurring customer impact. • Drive Steering Committee meetings with key partners to make decisions, remove obstacles, and resolve critical program and availability issues. • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations leaders to define availability metrics, targets, and reporting, and use data to guide priorities and investment decisions.

You're Our Person If...   • You have 10+ years of enterprise software or technical program management experience, including 5+ years leading SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or platform programs. • You have led complex technical programs at scale from initiation through closure, including program definition, planning, dependency and risk management, governance, and stakeholder alignment. • You have significant experience with infrastructure, cloud services, service availability, or incident prevention/recovery programs, including leading incident management initiatives, cross-functional coordination, and corrective-action governance. • You have a strong analytical orientation, can translate technical risks into business impact and executive-level decisions, and bring a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

Even Better If...   • You have experience with Portfolio Management, and supporting globally distributed, large-scale cloud infrastructure or mission-critical SaaS services. • You've worked within a highly mature availability organization, such as a hyperscale cloud provider or company known for industry-leading incident management practices, and are familiar with concepts such as service-level indicators/objectives, error budgets, and resilience testing. • You've helped establish or improve incident management and availability practices across multiple teams or business units, and can distinguish activity metrics from outcome metrics to build measurement frameworks that drive the right behaviors. • You're comfortable establishing credibility with senior executives, engineering leaders, and incident responders alike, and hold a related technical degree.
