Job Description

The Vice President, CPG Financial Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of Children’s Physician Group (CPG) under the leadership of the Senior Vice President, Finance and in partnership with CPG operational leaders. Leads all operational financial functions including month-end close, variance analysis, budget process, and pro forma development. This role serves as a key financial partner to CPG operations and is responsible for physician practices benchmarking.

Experience • A minimum of 12 years of combined experience in lead operations and financial management roles of a multi-disciplinary healthcare practice, a minimum of 8 years of experience in direct financial management • Experience leading large multi-site physician groups and/or employed physician networks • Demonstrated experience in developing physician compensation models and incentive plans, while applying relevant commercial reasonableness and fair-market-value standards • Experience in budgeting and forecasting, financial planning, productivity analytics, reimbursement, and capital planning • Deep understanding of physician practice economic and operational dynamics

Preferred Qualifications • Master’s degree and/or CPA, CPAM or FHFMA certifications • Additional experience in a financial role at a payor organization • A large integrated physician practice or acute care health system experience • Pediatric experience

Education • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare finance, physician enterprise operations, and reimbursement methodologies. • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer reimbursement, physician compensation methodologies, and regulatory requirements including Stark Law and Anti-Kickback regulations. • Strategic financial planning, forecasting, and performance management • Executive communication and presentation skills • Financial modeling, analytics, and decision support • Physician relationship management and stakeholder engagement • Project and program management • Team development, coaching, and succession planning • Conflict resolution, negotiation, and change management • Ability to build trusted relationships with physicians, executive leadership, and operational partners • Ability to lead effectively in highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environments • Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights for diverse audiences • Ability to drive accountability and achieve measurable operational and financial results

Job Responsibilities • Develop and enhance end to end patient experience continuum. • Leads all operational financial functions including, month-end close, variance analysis, budget process, pro forma development, and long-range financial planning. • Responsible for process improvement in charge capture and reconciliation, as well as other areas of revenue optimization. • Responsible for team and leader development, engagement, and retention. • Responsible for key performance metrics reporting and interpretation. • Develops strategies/alternatives for optimal performance by collaborating with leaders from revenue cycle, managed care, and coding areas. • Responsible for overall customer satisfaction. • Responsible for setting and following the strategic financial direction for the Physician Enterprise including goal setting, near and long-term planning. • Operates as the key financial partner to the VPs of the functional areas as well as the COO, Children's Physicians’ Group, while overseeing day-to-day financial operations. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting the results of operations while working with the practices to achieve targeted results. • Leads the annual budget (operating and capital) process and provides direction on how to utilize tools and set budgets. Reviews and approves the initial budget submission for the group. Serves as an advocate and first point of contact for all budget matters. • Oversees the development of financial pro formas, financial feasibility studies and business plans with operational leaders by providing input, guidance, and validation. • Engages with legal, human resources and third-party consultants to structure appropriate acquisition terms (compensation and asset purchase) related to practice acquisitions or affiliations. • Works closely with finance to determine and understand profitability by functional unit, financial class, and other meaningful segmentations; uses this knowledge to educate leadership on implications of decisions to long-term profitability. • Collaborates with human resources on physician incentive and compensation model design and implementation; works closely with human resources to ensure competitiveness of compensation, relative to market benchmarks. • Demonstrates competence as described in the Children’s Leadership Competencies. • Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility; maintains records and reporting of compliance activities. • Identifies potential risk areas w
