This role follows a hybrid schedule and reports to the Head of Waymo Training and Documentation.
You will:
• Design a multi modality technician and workshop management curriculum; assist in asset creation with Waymo’s training team.
• Implement "train the trainer" programs and hands on skills assessments, leveraging both classroom and workshop settings to impart competency servicing Waymo’s proprietary systems
• Drive strong cross functional collaboration with business stakeholders and vendor partners to achieve desired learning proficiency as well as safety and compliance outcomes in complex safety-critical and regulatory sensitive environments
• Perform site audits with the Service Quality team to ensure training proficiency retention while identifying opportunities for operational improvement
• Define, operationalize, and maintain quality standards that drive operational consistency, reliability, and alignment with organizational goals, particularly related to partner’s training programs
• Drive accountability and monitor the quality of external training partners and their ability to achieve desired learning proficiencies and operational readiness adhering to safety best practices.
You have:
• 7+ years professional automotive service instructional or educational experience
• Built, managed and/or maintained standard operating procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills critical for explaining complex topics
• Ability to present information confidently and effectively to groups
• A commitment to uphold the highest standards for safety and quality
• Proven experience managing vendor relationships and external training teams to deliver scalable programs.
• Leveraged a Learning Management System to organize, deploy, and track training
We Prefer:
• 10+ years experience in the automotive service field
• Data analytics and reporting in Excel, GSheets, or SQL
• Built or deployed training assets or special tools to improvement repair methods or training competency
• Proficient with automotive OEM diagnostic software and repair methods (e.g. High voltage diagnostic/repair, CAN network diagnostics/repair, 12v harness diagnostics/repair, performing software updates to vehicle modules)
• Demonstrated ability to identify, propose, and implement process improvements for training workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency, particularly as they relate to safety and compliance effectiveness and the implementation of changes into normal operations.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
Salary Range $159,000 — $196,000 USD
