A Day in the Life The Sustaining Engineer II supports Service & Repair operations for distributed products across the CST and ENT operating units, including Advanced Energy products such as AEX Generators and with associated monopolar and & bipolar disposable handpieces, as well as ENT products including the PTeye Console with associated and accessories. This role helps ensure service processes, documentation, tooling, and infrastructure remain effective. This position is best suited for an engineer with an electrical, instrumentation, or electro-mechanical background who can work across sustaining engineering, service documentation, and process improvement. The role is focused on maintaining service infrastructure, supporting work instructions and records, and helping new or acquired products transition into service operations in a scalable way across regions. • Support distributed products for Service & Repair Operations across CST and ENT operating units serviced in: Fort Worth, TX; Louisville, CO; Jacksonville, FL • Represent Service & Repair Operations in NPI, RPM, and continuous improvement projects to ensure new and sustaining products can be supported effectively in service centers. • Maintain service infrastructure, including service processes, tools, and systems that support continued operation, maintenance, and optimization of serviced products. • Manage and improve work instructions, service records, and supporting documentation used to document service activity and maintain operational consistency • Use Excel to manage service records and forms, including spreadsheet configuration, formula validation, and formatting needed to support accurate documentation. • Evaluate technically feasible and economically viable sustainment solutions that support long-term serviceability and operational efficiency. • Analyze service and maintenance data to identify trends, improve sustainability, and support continued operation under changing business or product conditions. • Develop and implement design, process, material, or test specification changes that improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and service support. • Collect and evaluate service use and maintenance data and support root cause analysis of in-service issues such as parts obsolescence, reliability trends, safety risks, and failure causes. • Partner with technicians and experienced site experts to document findings, implement corrective actions, and strengthen service processes. • Support the introduction of new and acquired products into service operations by translating service requirements into practical processes that can be applied across regions. • Work with stakeholders across sites and regions to adapt service processes in a way that balances quality, cost, and operational limitations without creating unnecessary local variation. • Support international service sites by helping provide tooling, training, and process guidance needed for consistent execution.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

• Electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, or other engineering background supporting electro-mechanical systems. • Experience in medical device, service center, manufacturing, or regulated product environments. • Familiarity with sustaining engineering, service documentation, or product support within service and repair operations. • Strong Excel skills, including managing complex spreadsheets, validating formulas, and maintaining structured service records. • Experience supporting new product introduction, product lifecycle changes, or acquired technologies in an operations environment. • Ability to translate technical requirements into practical work instructions, service documentation, and repeatable support processes. • Experience working across multiple sites or regions to standardize processes and support scalable execution. • Exposure to continuous improvement methods such as Lean or Lean Six Sigma. • Ability to learn troubleshooting over time while partnering effectively with technicians and senior technical experts.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
