About this role
Company Background
Censys’ mission is to be the one place to understand everything on the internet. Frustrated by the lack of trustworthy Internet intelligence, we set out to create the industry’s most comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date map of the Internet. Today, Censys delivers real-time Internet intelligence and actionable threat insights to global governments, over 50% of the Fortune 500, and leading threat intelligence providers worldwide.
We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to scale execution of the Censys Internet Map: the most continuously updated view of every asset, port, service, and certificate we can find across the public internet. Building it means running one of the largest internet-wide scanning operations in the world - 400+ Protocols providing access to 3Trillion+ scans in our APIs, 10PetaBytes+ of historical data, scanning 250Million+ IPs across 65K ports daily, resolving 8Billion+ names every 24 hours and tracking DNS at scale, tracking 18B+ certificates, fingerprinting 100K+ technologies behind what we find, enriching all of it with human readable labels, and third-party context so it becomes actionable intelligence rather than raw data.
This role is anchored in disciplined delivery, translating complex coverage and enrichment priorities into requirements engineering can build against. You'll define business and customer priorities, run the delivery cadence, and keep engineering and cross-functional stakeholders aligned on what's shipping and why it matters.
What You’ll Do
Internet Map Execution: You will define the business and customer priorities behind what goes into the Internet Map and how it stays best-in-class. This is the lever that enables Censys to be successful across every product and every segment we operate in.
• Coverage: How do we grow the map, how often we refresh it, and how comprehensively? This spans expanding IPv4/IPv6 scan scope, adding and prioritizing ports and protocols, increasing scan and DNS resolution frequency, and improving certificate and host discovery. You'll define this data collection work as detailed engineering requirements and acceptance criteria, and track coverage against baselines to identify and close gaps.
• Context: How do we enrich data into actionable intelligence? You'll define enrichment priorities based on customer and product needs: technology fingerprinting, risk scoring, and third-party data integrations. This includes evaluating external/third-party data sources for accuracy, coverage, and cost; defining the metrics used to judge data and enrichment quality; defining the schema that structures how coverage and context data is represented; and writing the documentation that makes both understandable and usable internally and externally.
Cross-Team Alignment and Execution:
• Drive cross-functional data prioritization across the Censys suite and provide business priority input into sequencing for new protocols and enrichments, ensuring data investments align with company goals, resolve multi-product conflicts, and provide roadmap transparency to other product managers and EMs.
• Engineering partnership and data quality: You ensure Engineering teams working on scanning infrastructure, data pipelines, and enrichment systems have well-defined requirements, clear acceptance criteria, and the context they need to make good architectural decisions. Track coverage and context quality against baselines. Identify gaps between current state and target, and translate findings into concrete engineering work to close them.
• Cross-functional enablement: Peer product teams (Exposure Management, Security Operations, Critical Infrastructure, Platform) and GTM (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success) build on and sell your data. Keep both audiences current on what's shipping, what's changing, and what's coming next, through regular updates, enablement sessions, and technical documentation.
Skills & Experience
• 5+ years product management experience in full-scale data platforms, cybersecurity, or intelligence products
• 5+ years working in cybersecurity with deep experience working on products focused on the IP, DNS, and routing domain
• Enough technical fluency in data systems, distributed infrastructure, or scanning at scale to write requirements
• Proven experience writing detailed technical requirements and acceptance criteria that engineers can build against
• Experience defining data schemas and quality metrics, and writing documentation that both technical and non-technical audiences can use
• Experience running a delivery cadence (sprint planning, backlog grooming, status reporting) with a fast-moving engineering org
• Proven track record working with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, peer PMs) without formal authority over their priorities
• Demonstrates curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
