What you will do: • Lead the PMO function for Thermo King, including portfolio governance, program/project management standards, operating mechanisms, and execution discipline across product development. • Partner with business and functional leaders to translate strategy into a prioritized, executable product development portfolio that aligns demand, capacity, timing, investment, and business value. • Lead the annual and multi-year portfolio planning processes, including Long Range Plan (LRP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), innovation reviews, and related portfolio decision forums. • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve PMO performance metrics, including delivery predictability, schedule adherence, resource utilization, cost performance, risk management effectiveness, and portfolio health. • Own visibility to overall product development portfolio performance, including budget, resource capacity, milestone delivery, key risks, and expected business value. • Lead complex prioritization and tradeoff decisions across competing initiatives to optimize business outcomes within budgetary and resource constraints. • Drive strong financial stewardship across the product development portfolio, including budget planning, forecasting, benefits tracking, and management of investment decisions within budgetary and resource constraints. • Build organizational capability in program and project management by assessing talent, coaching leaders and practitioners, and strengthening the overall PMO talent pipeline. • Lead, coach, and develop project and program managers to improve execution quality, business acumen, stakeholder management, and risk-based decision making. • Foster a proactive risk management culture by improving risk identification, mitigation planning, escalation practices, and team capability in managing uncertainty. • Lead cross-functional governance forums, gate reviews, and execution reviews to ensure alignment, accountability, sound decision making, and timely resolution of issues. • Drive adoption of improved processes, tools, and governance practices that strengthen product development effectiveness and organizational maturity, including, but not limited to, PMO, PDP, and PPM process and tool enhancements. • Partner with enterprise and business stakeholders to benchmark, standardize, and improve PMO methodologies, governance, tools, and reporting. • Lead special projects and business transformation initiatives related to product development effectiveness, operating model improvement, and execution excellence. • Influence and align stakeholders across functions and levels, including senior leaders, to enable decisions, remove barriers, and deliver business outcomes.
What you will bring: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered. • Significant experience leading complex programs, portfolios, or PMO functions in a product development, engineering, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment. • Demonstrated experience leading people, including coaching, performance management, and talent development. • Experience partnering across functions and influencing decisions with senior leaders in a matrixed organization. • Experience with portfolio planning, prioritization, resource management, and governance processes. • Experience managing financial aspects of projects or portfolios, including planning, forecasting, and performance tracking. • Demonstrated ability to improve execution performance through standard work, metrics, operating mechanisms, and continuous improvement. • Experience leading organizational change, process improvement, or business transformation initiatives. • Willingness and ability to travel 10–15%.
