Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Quality, the Quality Supervisor will lead a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors across assigned production and test areas. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for daily execution of Quality Assurance activities, ensuring consistent, compliant, and reliable hardware production in support of DoD and commercial customers. This role oversees inspection processes, documentation accuracy, nonconformance management, calibration/metrology program, and adherence to customer, internal, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Supervisor partners closely with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly & Test, Program Management, and Operations to maintain a high‑reliability production environment and drive continuous improvement across all shifts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors to ensure strong performance, accuracy, and compliance across inspection and QA activities

• Oversee daily QA operations, including build and test support, inspection execution, document review, defect recording, and compliance verification

• Ensure consistent and repeatable execution of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, inspection standard work, and customer-specific deliverables

• Review inspection data and quality records to assess adherence to requirements and identify trends, risks, or gaps in process reliability

• Partner with Quality Engineering to support CAPA/RCCA, defect reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement projects

• Ensure proper generation, documentation, and resolution of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) with clear defect descriptions and accurate supporting evidence

• Promote awareness and strict compliance with customer, internal, industry, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001, customer specifications, aerospace workmanship standards)

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete quality documentation, including travelers, inspection records, and test documents

• Monitor and enforce cleanroom, ESD, and safety requirements within assigned production areas

• Provide training, coaching, and skill development for technicians and inspectors, ensuring alignment with workmanship standards (IPC‑610, IPC‑620), GD&T, and procedural requirements

• Communicate quality status, risks, and issues to the Senior Manager, Quality and key cross‑functional stakeholders

• Support fast-paced, high‑mix production environments with a focus on reliability, accuracy, and on-time delivery

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or relevant technical trade skills/qualifications

• 4+ years of quality assurance experience in aerospace, high‑reliability electronics, mechanical assembly, or similar environments

• 2+ years in a team lead/supervisory role (or equivalent demonstrated leadership capability) including work assignments, performance reviews, timekeeping and hiring decisions

• Experience with inspection practices, build/test documentation, and QA/QC principles

• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, aerospace quality requirements, and customer specifications

• Working knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, J STD 001, GD&T, and common aerospace mechanical, PCBA and harness assembly standards

• Experience in cleanroom and ESD-safe manufacturing environments

• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Quality Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic digital documentation tools

• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Certified Quality Technician or similar certification

• Experience working with MES, ERP, PLM or quality systems (e.g., Jira, Aegis, D365, Windchill or equivalent)

• Experience reviewing work travelers or complex documentation packages across multiple systems

• Experience with defect documentation, nonconformance management, and root cause investigation

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Salary Range $90,000 — $120,000 USD
