The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within the Global PATRIOT® program area. This role will play an integral role as a Contracts professional within the Central Europe program team. The portfolio is predominately comprised of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for the production, integration, technical assistance, and sustainment of the Patriot system to European partners.
In this role, you will be responsible for customer communication, contract management, change management, coordination of invoicing, fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. You will need to utilize regular application of thorough business acumen and subject matter expertise to understand program performance requirements, provide guidance, and influence results in support of program and financial objectives. Additionally, the Principal Specialist, Contracts is required to work closely with Program Management leadership, the Office of General Counsel, and cross-functional peers in support of program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, risk management activities, and all other contractual related matters affecting the portfolio.
This role will work with both internal and external customers to support the successful program execution by providing guidance and influencing outcomes to achieve desired results. The successful candidate should have a track record of success in FMS contracting including terms and conditions, cost defense, profit/fee negotiations, and contract execution.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to have the prerequisite skills and experience to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while having ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with complex customers.
What You Will Do • Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies
• Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, all phases of contracts execution, as well as contract administration
• Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
• Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking creative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
• Effectively manage contractual scope and terms and conditions to ensure work is performed to the overall contract scope
• Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards
• Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise
• Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks
• Some travel will be required to meet with the customer (approximately 2-4 times per year)
Qualifications You Must Have • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Experience working with US Government contracts under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and/or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
• Experience in one or more of the following: Contracts Administration. Program Management, Business Management, Finance, Legal, Subcontracts, Supply Chain and / or Procurement

• Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of goals, including ability to communicate and guide executive leadership.
• Experience in a position requiring multi-tasking and effective management of several competing priorities.
• Comfortable working in an environment with established company policies and procedures.
• Strong business acumen with financial understanding of the Raytheon business.
• Experience in maintaining
