What You Will Do As a Mechanical Engineer at Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS), you will participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. The selected candidate will learn to work closely with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. • With technical supervision, apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems. • Work with engineers and designers to produce models for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. • With technical oversight, execute tests for systems, subsystems, and components. • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives. • Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team.
What You Will Learn • Collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team to create successful designs. • How to follow appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs. • Documentation of development, analysis, and test data. • Processes associated with the various phases of the product development cycle.
Qualifications You Must Have • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer • Experience with SolidWorks and/or Siemens NX Designer • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint) • Possession of an active U.S. Government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
