About the Role

We are looking for an Inventory & Asset Operations Project Manager to support the day-to-day flow, control, and visibility of equipment in a data center R&D environment. You will help keep assets accurate, available, and moving—receiving and organizing equipment, coordinating requests, maintaining inventory systems and internal applications, supporting audits, and improving the processes that engineers rely on.

The strongest fit is an energetic, highly organized operator who enjoys being in the middle of the work. You notice what needs attention, follow through without losing details, and are equally comfortable updating a tracking tool, coordinating with stakeholders, walking the floor to locate equipment, and helping the team safely stage or move assets.

What You'll Do

Inventory and Asset Operations

• Own accurate inventory records for lab, test, server, network, and related hardware across multiple onsite locations.

• Support the full asset lifecycle, including intake, labeling, storage, checkout, allocation, transfers, returns, audits, and end-of-life disposition.

• Perform routine physical inventory checks, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain audit-ready records.

• Monitor equipment levels, usage, and availability; surface risks and help prioritize assets based on engineering and project needs.

• Receive, organize, stage, and relocate equipment within lab, warehouse, and data center spaces, using team support and approved equipment when work should not be completed alone.

• Maintain orderly storage areas and clear asset identification so equipment can be located and deployed efficiently.

Logistics and Coss-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate equipment requests, fulfillment, movement, and handoffs with engineers, lab teams, warehouse partners, vendors, and other support groups.

• Track open requests and dependencies through completion, communicating status, delays, and next steps clearly.

• Route shipment or service requests to the appropriate team when ownership sits outside this role’s scope, while ensuring the handoff is documented and completed.

• Support changing priorities and volume cycles, including busier periods at the start of Microsoft planning and budget cycles.

• Partner across teams to resolve missing, delayed, mislabeled, or incorrectly assigned assets.

Tools, Applications, and Process Improvement

• Maintain and improve internal inventory applications, request workflows, dashboards, and tracking systems used by the team.

• Organize and clean operational data to improve accuracy, reporting, and decision-making.

• Create and maintain practical SOPs, process documentation, and user guidance.

• Train and support stakeholders on inventory tools, request processes, and asset-handling expectations.

• Identify gaps, simplify workflows, and implement improvements that make equipment easier to find, track, allocate, and manage at scale.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in inventory control, asset management, warehouse operations, data center or lab operations, supply chain, logistics, or a closely related environment.

• Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate records and completing physical inventory audits or reconciliations.

• Experience coordinating hardware movement, equipment requests, fulfillment, or asset lifecycle activities across multiple stakeholders.

• Strong operational follow-through: you take ownership, stay organized, and close loops in a fast-moving environment.

• Comfort working directly with physical equipment in lab, warehouse, or data center spaces—not only managing work through reports or meetings.

• Strong Excel and data-organization skills, with the ability to learn and maintain inventory, collaboration, and project-tracking tools.

• Clear, practical communication and sound judgment about when to act, escalate, request support, or redirect work to the correct owner.

• Ability to work onsite across Redmond and Totem Lake locations based on operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Microsoft or another large enterprise technology environment.

• Experience with servers, network hardware, lab/test equipment, ITAR, CUI, GFE, or other controlled assets.

• Experience with barcode or RFID inventory systems and hardware lifecycle controls.

• Experience building or maintaining Power Apps, Dataverse solutions, Power BI reports, SharePoint workflows, or similar operational tools.

• Experience supporting multiple locations, warehouse spaces, or high-volume asset environments.

• Forklift, pallet jack, or other material-handling experience or certification, where applicable.

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical, inventory, logistics, or project management certification.

Work Environment and Physical Expectations

This position is performed onsite in active lab, warehouse, and data center environments. The work includes regular walking between work areas; standing, bending, reaching, and handling equipment; and helping receive, organize, stage, or relocate hardware. Some periods wil
