Position Summary Performs advanced billing and collection activities for Occupational Therapy. Completes authorizations for payment, verify accuracy and completeness of claims, verify insurance benefits via phone or insurance portal & assists with discounts, adjustments, and charge corrections
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Completes insurance authorizations accurately and verifies insurance coverage for services rendered. • Collaborates with scheduling / registration team members to assure registrations are accurate and complete leading to efficient billing / collections. Provides estimates for services if requested. • Completes assigned charge review and assures accuracy of submitted charges. • Supports audit readiness and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory standards. • Stays informed of changes in Medicare / Medicaid regulations and works with clinical manager and director to adjust workflows as needed. • Collaborates with clinicians to obtain necessary documentation as needed. • Completes insurance benefit collection for patients and ensures OT & DME benefits for services patient will be receiving • Maintain workflow continuity by supporting coworker responsibilities during absences • Provide training and operational support on an as-needed basis and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience. Certifications /Professional Licenses : No specific certification/professional license is required for this position.
Work Experience: Bookkeeping/Accounting And/Or Medical Collection Setting (2 Years) Skills: Not Applicable Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.

Salary Range $17.89 - $26.35 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
