Terms: Permanent, Full-time. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship. Employment eligibility will be verified as part of the hiring process.
THE ROLE: The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving product quality, food safety, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives across the ice cream manufacturing operation. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to eliminate quality losses, reduce defects, improve process capability, and ensure all products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company standards.
The Quality Engineer serves as a technical expert for quality systems, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process validation while supporting the factory's journey toward world-class performance through zero defects, zero waste, and zero consumer complaints. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Quality Systems & Compliance • Maintain and improve Quality Management System (QMS) processes. • Applied knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22716, Allergen Management, Food Safety, FSSC 22000, FDA 21 CFR 210, etc. • Support internal, external, regulatory, and customer audits. • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to quality incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformances. • Support allergen management and food safety risk assessments.
Process Control & Product Quality • Monitor and improve critical quality parameters throughout production. • Analyze manufacturing data and trends to identify quality losses and process variation. • Validate process changes, equipment modifications, and new product introductions. • Develop and maintain quality standards, specifications, and control plans. • Drive reduction of consumer complaints, rework, and product hold events.
Continuous Improvement • Lead root cause investigations • Partner with Operations to reduce defects, waste, and process variation. • Implement preventive measures to sustain quality improvements. • Facilitate quality-focused continuous improvement projects.
Laboratory & Verification Activities • Support laboratory testing programs and verification activities. • Ensure calibration and validation of quality monitoring equipment. • Analyze microbiological, physical, chemical, and sensory data. • Review quality records and identify improvement opportunities.
Training & Capability Building • Train and coach manufacturing teams on quality standards and food safety requirements. • Support operator quality ownership and frontline problem-solving. • Develop training materials and standard operating procedures.

Experience, Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or related technical discipline • 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, dairy, ice cream, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries. • Experience supporting quality systems in a manufacturing environment. • Audit and food safety experience preferred.

A Successful Quality Engineer: • Champions food safety and consumer protection. • Uses data to identify and eliminate quality losses. • Builds strong partnerships with Operations and Engineering. • Drives sustainable corrective actions. • Creates a culture where quality is owned by everyone. • Continuously improves processes while maintaining compliance and product excellence. • Ideal for a Magnum Ice Cream manufacturing site: This role would own quality loss elimination, complaint reduction, audit readiness, food safety compliance, and process capability improvement while partnering closely with Process Engineers, Operations Leaders, and QA Technicians.
