Title: Human Resources (HR) Coordinator
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Salary: $26.00 - $31.25 hourly, depending on experience

Essential job functions /duties :

• Coordinate all onboarding activities, including HRIS registration, I-9 completion, pre-employment documentation, personnel file setup, uniform distribution, and overall new hire readiness; serve as backup facilitator for first-day employee orientation.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and personnel files, including employee data updates, termination processing, employment verifications, unemployment requests, and confidential medical documentation.
• Support HR operations by responding to employee and manager inquiries, triaging escalated matters, assisting with timecard and PTO requests, and routing payroll, benefits, garnishment, leave, and employee relations issues to the appropriate resources.
• Maintain tracking and administrative support for workers comp, FMLA, ADA, and other leave and accommodation cases, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, compliance, and follow-up activities.
• Administer HR-related supplies and resources, including uniforms, business cards, food orders, vendor coordination, and departmental expense reconciliation for recurring HR vendors and services.
• Coordinate travel, lodging, and transportation arrangements for employees temporarily assigned to support other locations, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
• Support performance management activities, including new hire, biannual, and annual review preparation, survey launches, completion tracking, and monthly system audits.
• Serve as the primary Learning Management System (LMS) point of contact for employee and manager inquiries; assign, track, and report on new hire, annual compliance, and required training programs.
• Maintain tracking and reporting for tuition reimbursement programs, continuing medical education (CME) reimbursements, and virtual assistant workforce.
• Assist with HR compliance and administrative functions, including document preparation, scanning, mailing, electronic filing, reference checks, and employee record audits.
• Track assigned HR projects and initiatives in Microsoft Planner and support employee engagement activities, including quarterly visits to ALH sites across Arizona for "Caught Doing Good" recognition events.
• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other departmental initiatives as assigned.
Knowledge /Skills/Abilities Required :
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, documentation, and data.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong project coordination and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple HR initiatives simultaneously.
• Ability to prioritize work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond effectively to changing business needs.
• Knowledge of :
• Human resources principles, practices, and employment lifecycle processes.
• Federal and state employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, I-9 compliance, and FLSA requirements.
• Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other HR technology platforms.
• General office administration, business correspondence, records management, and document retention practices.
E ducation , credentials, and/or training required :
• Minimum one (1) year experience in human resources with a focus on HRIS management, onboarding, and administrative duties supporting mid-size companies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field OR
• Associate’s degree with at least two (2) years of HR administrative experience supporting mid-size companies
• Minimum one (1) year of medical field experience preferred.
• SHRM or PHR certified (or equivalent) preferred.
Travel :
• Some interoffice travel may be required with use of a company vehicle or mileage reimbursement
