Position Summary The HR Generalist III serves as a senior member of the site HR team, providing strategic and day-to-day support to leaders and employees within a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with managers and supervisors to address employee relations matters, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, and workforce initiatives.
Working under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist III independently manages complex HR issues, provides guidance and coaching to leaders, and supports the execution of site and regional HR strategies. This role serves as a trusted HR partner while helping develop consistent employment practices that support business objectives, employee engagement, and regulatory compliance.
Location This position will be based on-site at our brand-new manufacturing facility in Byhalia, MS.
Shift To Be Determined. Flexibility is preferred, as there will be multiple openings on various shifts.
What Will You Do?
The HR Generalist III provides advanced HR support and leadership across core HR functional areas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Partnering with managers and supervisors to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, attendance management, corrective actions, workplace conduct, and policy interpretation.
• Conducting complex employee relations investigations involving workplace concerns, allegations of misconduct, policy violations, and ethics or integrity hotline complaints.
• Advising leaders on appropriate corrective actions and employment decisions while ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with company policies and employment laws.
• Coaching managers on leadership effectiveness, employee development, conflict resolution, and workforce management practices.
• Interpreting, communicating, and administering HR policies, programs, and employment practices in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Managing and providing guidance on ADA accommodations, leave administration, restricted duty programs, Workers' Compensation matters, and related compliance requirements.
• Supporting compensation activities, including pay recommendations, promotional increases, internal equity reviews, and adherence to compensation guidelines.
• Serving as a resource to employees by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and providing education on HR programs, policies, benefits, and employment practices.
• Supporting employee engagement, retention, recognition, and culture initiatives that drive positive employee experiences.
• Partnering with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruiting, workforce planning, onboarding, and talent development activities.
• Analyzing workforce trends and HR metrics, preparing reports, and providing recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness and employee outcomes.
• Supporting organizational change initiatives, workforce restructuring activities, and business growth projects as needed.
• Assisting in the development, review, and maintenance of job descriptions and organizational structures.
• Providing mentorship, training, and guidance to less experienced HR team members.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance HR processes, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Complying with all Environmental Health & Safety standards, work rules, and safe work practices.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How Will You Get Here?
Education • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or related professional certification preferred.
Experience • 5-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment supporting an hourly workforce.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
• Experience supporting compliance programs, leave administration, accommodations, and performance management processes.
• Experience partnering directly with operations leaders to influence workforce decisions and drive business results.
• Experience utilizing HRIS, Learning Management Systems, and workforce reporting tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong knowledge of employee relations principles, employment law, and HR best practices.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make recommendations on complex employment matters.
• Strong coaching and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility and partnerships with leaders at all levels.
• Advanced conflict resolution, investigative, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, interpret workforce data, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
