About this role

It's fun to work in a company where people truly believe in what they are doing!

Schedule: This on-site role is expected to work primarily Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., providing regular support to both first- and second-shift manufacturing employees. Some flexibility in start and end times may be needed to support shift meetings, employee relations matters, and business needs.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support for our Lansing manufacturing operations. This is a highly visible, on-site role that partners closely with employees, supervisors, and plant leadership to support a positive, compliant, and high-performing work environment.

The HR Generalist will spend much of their time supporting manufacturing employees across first and second shifts, while also providing HR support to other Lansing-based functions. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced plant environment, brings strong employee-relations judgment, and can effectively coach leaders through people-related situations.

Key Responsibilities • Serve as a trusted HR resource for manufacturing employees, supervisors, and leaders across first and second shifts. • Partner with plant leadership on employee relations, performance management, attendance, staffing, engagement, and workforce planning. • Conduct and support workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend appropriate next steps. • Coach supervisors on performance conversations, corrective action, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution. • Maintain HR records and support compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. • Support onboarding, employee communications, retention efforts, training initiatives, and employee engagement activities. • Assist with labor relations matters, grievance processes, and collective bargaining agreement interpretation, where applicable. • Review workforce data and trends, including turnover, attendance, employee relations activity, and staffing needs, to identify opportunities for improvement. • Partner with HR colleagues and cross-functional teams to support a safe, productive, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. • 3-5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or another operational environment. • Strong employee relations and performance management experience. • Experience conducting investigations and coaching frontline leaders. • Familiarity with employment law, HR compliance, and HR best practices. • Labor relations or union environment experience is preferred. • Strong communication, problem-solving, judgment, and relationship-building skills. • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office. • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. • Ability to work on-site in Lansing and maintain a schedule that supports both first- and second-shift operations.
