This is a part time student position at Texas Performing Arts. Both work study and non-work study students are encouraged to apply. Position is available to continue throughout student tenure.

Purpose
The Heller Awards for Young Artists (HAYA) is one of Central Texas’s most exciting and impactful cultural programs—a year-round initiative that celebrates excellence in high school musical theatre while expanding access to arts education and building lasting connections among students, educators, and communities.
The HAYA Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the program throughout the year.
This position is available for both work study and non-work student students.
Responsibilities
• Assist Education and Engagement Manager in the administration of the Heller Awards for Young Artists.
• Provide support for the Heller Awards program management system (e.g., monitoring help desk referrals and bug reports, assisting with calendar and communications updates, etc.).
• Assist with special Heller Awards events - season kick-off, professional development and workshops, judges retreat, etc.
• Assist with routine data collection, entry, and file maintenance in shared drives.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of annual program timelines, checklists, procedures, and post-season tasks.
• Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
• Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record. Dress appropriately for work in a casual, yet professional environment.
Required Qualifications
• Availability to work scheduled shifts during normal business hours (M-F; 9-5).
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as assigned.
• Ability to protect student data and maintain confidentiality around student information and internal processes.
• Ability to learn and adapt to evolving processes and procedures .
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented .
• Responsible, dependable, and punctual behaviors .
• Strong independent and collaborative work ethic .
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with the Heller Awards for Young Artists and Texas Performing Arts.
• An interest in the performing arts.
• An interest in arts administration, education, and/or community engagement.

Working Conditions
• Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Prolonged screen time.
• Significant in person, over the phone, and written communication with members of the public
• Physically able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds.
• Works independently and unsupervised on a regular basis.
• Work collaboratively as member of a team with people of varied backgrounds.
Work Shift
Standard 8am – 5pm office hours. Some night and weekend work available in relation to performances and events.
