Job Posting Title: Front Desk Student Assistant (Open to Work-Study and Non-Work Study) ---- Hiring Department: Department of Computer Science ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 19 ---- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt from FLSA ---- Earliest Start Date: Immediately ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until Aug 31, 2027 ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: Purpose The Department of Computer Science (CS) seeks a service-oriented, proactive, and adaptable student assistant to provide support to the department’s front desk reception and administrative tasks. The specific schedule will be determined at the time of hiring.

In this position, the student assistant will carry out various tasks to support the Department of Computer Science. This is a diverse position and is suited for someone who likes problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organization. The duties are likely to evolve as the student assistant gains experience within the department. This position is available to continue throughout student tenure and is open to Work-Study and non-Work Study students.

Responsibilities • Provide support to the department’s administrative suite front desk. Greet and assist staff, faculty, and visitors to the department. • Maintain and organize the Administrative Suite and mailroom. • Sort and deliver mail and packages received in the CS mailroom. • Maintain the CS mailroom copiers. • Assist with catering setup and taken down for department meetings and faculty candidate talks. • Manage the lost and found log. • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications • Must be a current, full-time undergraduate student.  • Excellent communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Ability to reliably adhere to CS policies and instructions. • Experience with most standard office technology and software.

Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Slack. • Previous customer service experience.

Salary Range $13.00 per hour

Working Conditions • Typical office environment onsite at the Department of Computer Science

• Location: Dell Gates Complex (GDC), 2317 Speedway, GDC 2.302

Work Shift • Availability is required between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, up to 19 hours maximum per week. • This position will start in August 2026 and is available to continue through student tenure.  There is one (1) open position.
