Key Responsibilities

Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in project and program management. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve Global Supply Chain (GSC) processes and services. Manages assigned GSC supplier transitions — including site moves, dual-sourcing, supplier exits, and support of merger and acquisition (M&A) integration activity — to help safeguard business continuity and continuity of supply for the Applied business units and sites served. This position is an entry point into GSC supplier transition management; assigned projects are scoped to manageable size, risk and resource requirements, with larger or more complex transitions assigned at more senior levels.

Manages assigned transitions from intake through closure within established Transitions Team project management standards, applying the Agile, Hybrid or Traditional (Waterfall) approach appropriate to the initiative and confirming the approach with the Transitions program lead. Responsible for planning and executing assigned work to agreed scope, schedule and quality; maintaining accurate project, part and supplier data; tracking actions, risks and dependencies; providing clear and accurate status and risk communication; and driving assigned deliverables to closure. Escalates scope changes, resource conflicts and unresolved risk to the Transitions program lead. Project management skills are also applied to manage incoming supplier changes to ensure they are accurate and meet Applied change management requirements.

Other Requirements: This position requires periodic travel to supplier and Applied manufacturing sites, domestic and international, to support supplier capability assessment, qualification and audit activity. Site visits may require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Leadership •  Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements. Leads cross-functional project teams without direct authority.

Problem Solving • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

Impact • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies

Interpersonal Skills • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus across internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Transitions Team Responsibilities

Business Process & Technical Knowledge • Applies working knowledge of the core supply chain and technical systems required for assigned transitions — including change management, part and supplier data, and qualification tracking systems — using established Transitions Team process documentation and job aids. • Understands the supply chain and technical processes involved in supplier transitions and how own role and deliverables fit within the assigned program. • Pulls part, supplier and qualification data accurately from defined systems and sources, and verifies completeness and accuracy before it is used for analysis, reporting or decision making — including ensuring complete part lists are captured for each assigned transition. • Manages assigned Supplier Notifications (SNFs) — confirming incoming changes meet process requirements and contain the required data, resolving system conflicts, routing to approvers and following up on approvals to meet Applied change management requirements. • Captures and tracks drawing, specification and special-process requirements as defined by the Design Engineering Authority (DEA) and Copy Exact teams, and maintains them in the qualification plan as tracked deliverables and milestones. • Applies standard analyses and data reviews to identify potential causes of project issues, escalating complex technical or root-cause
