POSITION SUMMARY The Beverage & Entertainment Assistant serves as a hands-on support role to the Beverage & Entertainment Manager, playing a critical part in the execution of live entertainment and beverage activations across the resort. This role functions as a “roadie / sound engineer” — assisting with the setup, breakdown, and transportation of entertainment equipment and supplies at multiple on-mountain and base area locations. This position requires a good understanding of musical equipment, PA systems & basic knowledge of an array of mixers (analog & digital). Also, a strong physical stamina, adaptability, and the ability to ski or ride confidently to various venues while carrying or transporting equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment and enjoys being behind the scenes making memorable guest experiences come to life.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Event & Entertainment Support • Assist with the setup, breakdown, and staging of live entertainment including DJs, bands, pop-up activations, and special events
• Transport sound equipment, instruments, signage, beverage elements, and event supplies to and from venues
• Support entertainers and vendors with load-in/load-out logistics
• Sound Check & run sound for performances
• Maintain event timelines by ensuring venues are fully set and operational prior to guest arrival
On-Mountain & Multi-Venue Logistics • Ski or ride to various resort locations as required, often with gear or supplies
• Assist with venue transitions and pop-up movements throughout the day or evening
• Coordinate closely with the Beverage & Entertainment Manager to anticipate operational needs
• Guest Experience & Venue Readiness
• Support a polished, professional event environment aligned with resort brand standards
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety during events
• Provide light guest interaction support when appropriate, directing guests or answering basic questions
Operational Support • Assist with beverage activations, branded pop-ups, and promotional events
• Help manage storage, inventory, and organization of entertainment and event equipment
• Support beverage training sessions or tastings as needed
• Adhere to all resort policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Collaboration & Communication • Work closely with F&B teams, Marketing, Operations, and outside vendors
• Communicate effectively regarding setup needs, challenges, and event flow
• Represent the resort positively with entertainers, partners, and guests
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required • General understanding of analog & digital mixing boards
• Basic understanding of gain structure & sound signal compression
• Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level confidently to access multiple on-mountain locations
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment (up to 50 lbs)
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
Preferred • Previous experience in live events, entertainment production, hospitality, or F&B support
• Familiarity with basic audio/visual or event equipment
• Knowledge of resort operations or mountain environments
• Valid driver’s license (preferred but not required)
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel.
