About this role

This is what you will do:   

The Director, Patient Services Strategy, Rare Nephrology   individual   plays a vital role in   setting and coordinating   patient services   strategy   to support the Rare Nephrology franchise at Alexion.   The focus is on defining and governing strategy, sequencing roadmaps, and ensuring disciplined and prioritized execution among in-line indications and future launches   in the Rare Nephrology franchise . Partnering closely with cross functional partners, the role ensures a seamless, compliant, and best-in-class patient journey.   

This role will collaborate across all levels of Patient Services and other functions, engaging with cross-functional partners such as OneSource Support Specialists, Patient Education Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers, Brand Marketing,   Sales,   Market   Access   and   IT.    The focus will be on understanding patient needs and how they fit with HCP office perspectives on patient support needs, setting coordinated strategies, and leading the performance management needed for successful pull-through by execution teams.   

You will   be responsible for :   

• Setting the end-to-end   Patient Services strategy to support the   Rare Nephrology   portfolio for   onboarding, access, initiation/adherence, and retention   to   positively   impact   and drive a successful patient journey .    

• Setting the frameworks and approval criteria for call guides, welcome kit s , and above-brand materials to be developed by partner teams and used by Patient Services with patients.  

• Acting as a k ey member of the Rare Hematology/Nephrology Patient Services Leadership Team  

• Partner ing   cross-functionally to implement new initiatives, including material design and approval, training plans, and communication strategies  

• Contributing to the Patient Services Innovation Roadmap, integrating innovation and AI into ways of working to enable   scalable, compliant execution.  

• Defining the approach to external market   dynamics and   overseeing   consolidated   reporting and insight synthesis to guide strategy updates.  

• Owning strategy and design for future launches, including   strategic allocation of each Patient Services role to the various indications within Rare Nephrology  

• Establishing KPI targets and operating cadence; coordinating cross-functional performance reviews and recommending actions to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement.  

• Collaborat ing   closely with the Rare Hematology Patient Services Strategy counterpart  

• Coordinat ing   and deliver ing   the Patient Services brand plans   for   the   Rare   Nephrology portfolio   

You will need to have:  

• A high degree of adaptability (ability to pivot as needed, abandon outdated approaches), a learning mindset (self-directed learning,   curiosity   and feedback-seeking), and accountability (proactively   identifies   problems and holds oneself accountable for improvement)   

• Patient centricity, positive mindset, and adaptability in a fluid environment  

• Bachelor's Degree  

• 8+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare experience   in the Commercial space   with extensive industry knowledge  

• Proven ability to align strategy across Patient Services, Brand Marketing, Market Access, etc., and represent senior leadership in cross-functional forums  

• Demonstrated experience setting KPI targets,   establishing   operating cadences, and managing performance to outcomes  

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create and deliver executive-ready presentations  

• Understanding of legal,   privacy   and compliance considerations in Patient Services, including HIPAA, OIG, and CMS regulations; experience   establishing   data and content guardrails  

• The duties of this role are   generally conducted   in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without accommodation,   to:   use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.  

We would   prefer for   you to have:  

• Experience leading launch strategy and readiness planning for specialty or rare disease therapies  

• Prior Patient Services leadership experience spanning strategy, governance, or cross-functional program management  

• Proven   ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from design through performance management
