About this role

This is what you will do:    

The Senior Director,   Rare Endocrinology and Rare Tumors (RERT) , Patient Services   (PS)   is responsible leading the Patient Services   function for the RERT   Business   Unit ,    inclusive   of driving the development and implementation of the PS strategy for four indications:  Hypophosphatasia (HPP), Lysosomal Acid Lipase Deficiency (LAL-D), Neurofibromatosis Type 1 plus Plexiform Neurofibromas ( NF1   PN) as well as potential future indications and assets. This critical leadership role will   be responsible for   working closely with the   RERT   Business Unit leadership to set the PS strategy, manage business performance,   identify , and manage relationships with 3rd parties   ( e.g.   specialty pharmacies)   and   identify   opportunities to improve performance to better serve patients .    This role will have responsibility for developing Patient Services strategy, and its execution via   field-based teams, including   a) the Case Management team, b) the   P atient Education Manager tea m, and c) the Field Reimbursement Team .    An essential element of success is a demonstrated ability to influence without authority and successfully negotiate and collaborate cross-functionally ( e.g.   marketing, market access, commercial operations, compliance, IT, legal, regulatory, training, medical, and field leadership) .    This leader   is responsible for   ensuring tight alignment with the business strategy to   optimize   opportunities to serve and educate patients in a compliant way .     

You will   be responsible for :   

• Leading and continuing to evolve   the   US PS best-in-class strategy and operating model for the US   RERT   business unit    

• Overseeing the   design of the Patient Services model for new launches and continuing to evolve existing indications’ models to ensure   the team is using AI and technology to   scale and   enhance   the   patient   experience    

• Manag ing   3rd party vendor relationships to ensure achievement of KPIs and key business   objectives   as well as compliance and quality  

• Partner ing   closely with Marketing, Market Access,   Patient Advocacy,   Legal, Compliance, Quality, Drug Safety, Commercial Operations, IT, Training, third   parties and vendors to ensure that patient support programs and messaging are effectively meeting the needs of patients  

• Recommend ing   program design innovations and lead implementation plans to senior leadership, with rationale for design   selection   and financial impact .    Work cross-functionally to design the Patient Services model for future launches  

• Work ing   closely with other members of Patient Services Leadership Team to drive department wide optimization  

• Lead ing   development of US strategic planning (3yr/1 yr.) for   RERT   PS, including tactical plans and budget allocation   

• Work ing   with Market Access, Commercial   Operations   and IT to ensure effective data flow with distribution partners to effectively manage the business  

• Partner ing   with commercial insights to conduct innovative research/analytics to   identify   key business dynamics, behavioral barriers, segmentation, and barriers to initiation and adherence  

• Establish ing   process for collection and sharing of best practices

You will need to have:  

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field  

• 15+ years related experience in the biotechnology industry  

• Significant commercial experiences, with   demonstrated   success in patient services leadership positions   preferred  

• Ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment and with changing   technology;  bias   toward proactively   identif ing   problems and   implement   solutions ; must have a learning mindset and strong personal accountability   

• Proven, consistent history of high performance regardless of position or company  

• Exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships  

• Understanding of compliance regulations and guidance governing copay and patient   assistance   programs, and commercial and government payer benefit interpretation  

• Launch experience and/or experience in high growth areas  

• High learning agility  

• Prior experience managing people   

• High level   of interpersonal skills and highly adept in both verbal & written communication  

• T he duties of this role are   generally conducted   in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation   to:   use a computer; engage in communications via phone,   video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.  

We would prefer for you to have:  

• MBA preferred  

• Broad base of experiences in patient services,   field leadership,   analytics, vendor management, marketing, market research, sales, and/or medical affairs is welcomed  

• Rare disease/high-value biologics experience
