Job Description: We are searching for the best talent to join our team as the Director, Global Communications & Public Affairs, Circulatory Restoration. This is a hybrid role based in Santa Clara, Ca.
Johnson & Johnson MedTech is transforming cardiovascular care through innovative technologies that address some of the most significant unmet needs in vascular disease. The Circulatory Restoration business, including Shockwave Medical technologies, is focused on advancing patient care through differentiated innovation, clinical evidence, physician education, and market development. The Director, Global Communications & Public Affairs, Circulatory Restoration is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated global communications and public affairs strategy that advances business priorities, strengthens stakeholder engagement, builds and protects reputation, supports organizational transformation, and drives employee alignment and culture. Reporting to the Vice President, Cardiovascular Communications & Public Affairs, this leader serves as a strategic advisor to the Circulatory Restoration Leadership Team. The role partners closely with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to shape internal and external communications strategies that support business growth, innovation leadership, commercial execution, and enterprise reputation. The position leads a team of global communications professionals and agency partners to deliver measurable impact through strategic storytelling, executive visibility, employee engagement, media relations, social media, thought leadership, issues management, and stakeholder communications.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications Leadership · Develop and implement a comprehensive global communications and public affairs strategy aligned to Circulatory Restoration business priorities and growth objectives. · Partner with business leadership to drive understanding of strategy, performance, innovation, and transformation initiatives among key internal and external partners. · Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives on strategic communications, positioning, reputation management, executive visibility, and stakeholder engagement. · Ensure communications strategies are scalable and adaptable across regions and markets while maintaining message consistency and strategic alignment. · Establish measurement frameworks and analytics to assess communications effectiveness and optimize performance. External Communications & Reputation Management · Lead external communications strategies that elevate the visibility and reputation of the Circulatory Restoration business and its portfolio of technologies. · Develop integrated campaigns and social media strategies supporting business achievements, clinical evidence generation, scientific meetings, product innovation, market development, and corporate initiatives. · Drive proactive media engagement, thought leadership, and strategic storytelling that strengthens leadership positioning within Cardiovascular. · Partner with Corporate Media Relations, Investor Relations, Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure coordinated partner engagement. · Identify emerging reputation risks and opportunities and develop strategies that protect and enhance business and enterprise reputation. · Support issues preparedness and response activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and coordinated communications. Employee Engagement & Organizational Communications · Lead the global employee communications and engagement strategy for the Circulatory Restoration organization. · Develop communication programs that connect employees to business priorities, organizational culture, performance, and strategic objectives. · Develop compelling content and communication experiences that inspire engagement, strengthen culture, and reinforce organizational purpose. · Support leadership announcements, organizational changes, transformation initiatives, and business integration activities through effective change communications. · Equip leaders with communications tools and resources that improve organizational alignment and employee understanding.
Qualifications Required · Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. · Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, public affairs, corporate communications, employee engagement, or a related field. · Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience.· Proven success developing and delivering integrated global communications strategies · Experience advising senior executives and leading executive communications, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement programs. · Expertise across employee engagement, organizational and change communications, media relations, digital and social media and reputation management. · Outstanding communicator and storyteller with strong critical thinking, analyti
