Diabetes Camp Counselor - Yaphank, NY

About this role

Assist in teaching educational camp programs at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center. Assist with day-today operations of the Diabetes Camp Program.      Required Qualifications: • Paid or volunteer experience working with children and/or the public.

• Experience with diabetes education and/or issues related to the disease.

• Must be at least 16 years old to comply with New York State Department of Health regulations.

• Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications: • Additional education and training in the field of education.

• Additional education in the areas of environmental science, horticulture, animal science, agriculture and/or natural science.

• Some teaching experience.

• Ability to assist with teaching and a keen interest in educating youth.

• Leadership abilities.

• A positive and energetic attitude.
