Pay Range Hiring Range: $56,555 - $67,870 Annually  Pay Range: $56,555 - $79,164 Annually 

Range Explanation:

• Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

• Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.

Community & Workforce Development (CWD) provides services to at least 30,000 individuals a year. It is funded with multiple federal, state and local grants as well as the County general fund. CWD is recruiting to fill two positions for the Department Personnel Coordinator, which is part of the CWD Operations Team. Position duties include providing creating and monitoring requisitions, onboarding and processing new hires, scheduling and monitoring requisitions, onboarding and processing new hires, scheduling and monitoring interviews, and maintaining confidential personnel files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.

Community & Workforce Development Department works with vulnerable populations and minors. A Level one Fingerprint Clearance Card, a Criminal History Self Disclosure Affidavit, and a Central Registry background check are requirements for employment.

Essential Functions:

• Provides administrative human resources services to employees and the public;

• Participates in the development of recruitment strategies, advertising, announcements and testing/selection criteria, processes and analysis of results;

• Evaluates and applies applicant selection criteria and procedures to certify eligible applicants;

• Performs individual and team studies, audits, verification and analysis of data and recommends appropriate management actions;

• Maintains and tracks FMLA documentation, approvals/denials and extended leaves; communicates anticipated return date with supervisors and employees;

• Counsels employees and applicants regarding employment opportunities and career advancement available within Pima County government;

• Reviews proposed personnel actions for compliance with applicable federal, state and County policies, regulations and procedures by application of County Merit Systems Rules and Personnel Policies/Procedures;

• Prepares and presents oral and written reports and correspondence as required;

• Conducts individual and group training of supporting Human Resources staff, supervisors, and managers regarding personnel issues and related topics;

• May represent Pima County, the Human Resources function or assigned division at meetings, seminars, job fairs, outreach recruitment, etc.;

• May act as lead Human Resources Coordinator for other administrative staff in unique or complex studies, projects or assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:   

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, management, human resources or other closely-related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND one year of professional-level human resources or administration experience.

(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

OR:

Four years of experience with Pima County in a human resources or administrative support level classification performing duties involving the processing of personnel/human resources documentation.

• Minimum two (2) years experience in personnel administration, human resources, office administration, or related.

• Experience coordinating personnel processes such as recruitment, onboarding, employee records, position changes, leave tracking, and separations.

• Experience working in a government setting and familiarity with public-sector personnel policies.

• Experience using discretion and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.

• Experience prioritizing multiple tasks while staying organized within timeframes.

Selection Proce dure :   Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources.   Additional   assessments/testing may be   required   as part of the selection process .
