Department School of Interdisciplinary Studies Job Summary
Job Description The School of Interdisciplinary Studies seeks to hire a Professor of Professional Practice for the Spring 2027 academic year. This full-time position will teach a regular (4/4) course load of four courses in both the Fall and Spring terms in the Interdisciplinary Studies program.
In addition to instruction, the position will create and submit assessment reports and other timely administrative tasks needed for SACS accreditation; work collaboratively with LSU Online on program and course development; and support the continued development of the interdisciplinary studies program. These duties may include outreach efforts to recruit students and work with other departments across the university to develop additional interdisciplinary programs, with a focus on program growth and opportunity expansion. Required Qualifications: • Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a related field. This can include Education, Curriculum and Instruction, a Liberal Arts program, or General Business
• Credentials to teach undergraduate and graduate courses that may be considered part of interdisciplinary studies.
• Effective communication, organization, and administrative skills
• Ability to multitask, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications: • Teaching experience in higher education.
• Curriculum design and credit evaluation.
• Developing methods of recognizing and accounting for non-traditional college credit.
• Teaching experience in remote modality, including preparation of course content for asynchronous instructional delivery.
