Department Management and Marketing Job Summary

The Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration at LSU New Orleans invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Healthcare Management. The position serves the AUPHA-certified Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management within the AACSB-accredited Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration. The program prepares future healthcare leaders through applied study of healthcare delivery, leadership, operations, finance and revenue cycle management, quality improvement, population health, long-term services and supports, and health information systems.

LSU New Orleans seeks a healthcare practitioner-educator with director-level or higher leadership experience in healthcare delivery. The strongest candidates will bring substantial expertise in one or more of the following priority areas: long-term services and supports/long-term care (LTSS/LTC); healthcare finance, accounting, reimbursement, or revenue cycle and collections; public or population health; or health information systems, informatics, and digital health. The position primarily supports the undergraduate Healthcare Management program, develops applied learning and employer partnerships, and contributes to the program's growth and professional relevance. Job Summary The successful candidate will be expected to: • Teach a regular course load of four courses per semester , primarily undergraduate healthcare management courses during the Fall and Spring semesters.

• Teach in face-to-face, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online instructional formats as assigned.

• Teach within the Healthcare Management curriculum, with priority coverage in LTSS/LTC; healthcare finance, accounting, reimbursement, and revenue cycle; public and population health; or health information systems and informatics.

• Translate current healthcare leadership practice, regulation, technology, and evidence into applied undergraduate learning.

• Mentor undergraduate students regarding academic planning, internships, graduate education, and professional career development.

• Support internship, practicum, and capstone experiences through engagement with healthcare employers and community partners.

• Submit course assessment reports, Assurance of Learning documentation, and other accreditation-related materials in a timely manner to support AACSB and AUPHA accreditation requirements.

• Participate in curriculum review, continuous improvement initiatives, and student learning assessment activities.

• Work collaboratively with faculty and administrators to support the continued development, recruitment, retention, and growth of the Healthcare Management Program.

• Participate in departmental, college, university, healthcare-industry, and professional service activities appropriate to an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice appointment.

• Maintain active professional engagement in healthcare leadership through executive practice, healthcare consulting, professional education, applied scholarship, or leadership in healthcare associations, consistent with AACSB faculty qualification standards.

Required Qualifications • Earned terminal degree from an accredited institution in a healthcare-focused discipline. Qualifying degrees include a Doctor of Health Science or Sciences (DHS/DHSc), Doctor of Health Administration (DHA), Doctor of Healthcare Leadership (DHL), Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), an EdD in Leadership or Organizational Leadership with a documented healthcare focus, or a research doctorate in healthcare management, health administration, health services, public/population health, health informatics, or a closely related healthcare field. The degree must be completed by the appointment date.

• Senior healthcare leadership experience : at least five (5) years of progressively responsible, full-time professional experience in healthcare, including service at the Director, executive, or equivalent senior leadership level with responsibility for people, budgets, programs, systems, or organizational outcomes.

• Demonstrated depth in at least one priority domain : LTSS/LTC; healthcare finance, accounting, reimbursement, or revenue cycle and collections; public or population health; or health information systems, informatics, and digital health.

Applicants must also demonstrate: • Ability to translate senior-level healthcare experience into applied, evidence-based undergraduate instruction.

• Commitment to excellence in undergraduate healthcare management education.

• Ability to effectively teach and mentor a diverse student population.

• Ability to interpret healthcare data, evaluate operational and population-health challenges, establish priorities, and communicate decisions clearly.

• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external healthcare partners.

Desired Qualifications • University teaching experience in healthcare management, health administration, health services, public health, health informatics, or a closely related healthcare discipline.

• Experience teaching in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning environments.
