Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Department of Computer Science, College of Engineering [R0150748] .

ROLE of the POSITION The Department of Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full time Assistant Professor–In-Residence position commencing Fall 2026.

Responsibilities may include teaching, advising and mentoring students, course development, and engaging in service activities at the department, college, university, and community levels. This position is housed within the Department of Computer Science in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering. The Department of Computer Science is one of the fastest growing departments at UNLV.

In addition, the position requires participation in advising undergraduate students, in the development of courses and curriculum, in projects/lab supervision and management, in service by participation in shared governance, and in grant writing for education, interdisciplinary and teaching-focused grants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a  Ph. D in Computer Science  from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and  experience teaching at an ‘R1 Doctoral University – Very High Research Activity’ institution. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience teaching courses in Programming Languages and Compiler Construction is highly preferred.
