Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

May lead a project or program, including assessment, evaluation, timelines, goals, budget Job Description: The Academic Success Advising Coordinator, Sr. serves as a senior member of the undergraduate advising team, providing direct supervision, training, and support for assigned Academic Success Advisors while maintaining an active student advising caseload. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director of Academic Services, this position supports advisor development, advising operations, academic policy administration, and student success initiatives. The Coordinator, Sr. serves as a first-line supervisor and lead advisor, contributing to the success of the advising team and the students it serves. This is an in-person position based on-campus in Tempe, Arizona.
Position Salary Range: $62,000 - $64,000; DOE
Essential Duties:
Team Leadership & Staff Development • Supervise, coach, and support assigned Academic Success Advisors.
• Coordinate onboarding and training for new advisors.
• Support ongoing professional development for advising staff.
• Serve as a resource to advisors on student concerns, academic policies, and advising best practices.
• Participate in recruitment and hiring activities, including search committees.
• Serve as the primary backup to the Assistant Director of Academic Services during absences.
Academic Advising & Student Success • Advise a caseload of approximately 300 undergraduate students within assigned majors and concentrations.
• Assist students with academic planning, degree requirements, course selection, graduation readiness, and university policies.
• Provide advising through in-person, virtual, and electronic communication channels.
• Conduct proactive outreach and interventions to support student success, retention, and degree completion.
Advising Operations & Academic Administration • Serve as a resource for Salesforce case management and advising workflows.
• Support the routing and resolution of advising inquiries and student requests.
• Serve as an authorized signer for designated academic and enrollment-related processes.
• Review and process course overrides, academic exceptions, and related requests in accordance with university and departmental policies.
• Assist with degree progress and graduation readiness reviews for assigned academic programs.
Collaboration & Special Projects • Collaborate with faculty, university partners, and advising colleagues to support student success initiatives.
• Participate in committees, workgroups, and professional development activities.
• Support student engagement initiatives, special projects, and student organizations, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
• Master’s degree and experience in academic advising, student affairs, higher education, or a related field.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or leading professional staff.
• Experience onboarding, training, or facilitating professional development for employees.
• Knowledge of academic policies, degree requirements, and student success best practices.
• Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM/case management systems.
• Experience reviewing and processing academic exceptions, petitions, or student requests.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a student caseload and supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting, subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular use of standard office equipment.
