**THIS IS A 3RD SHIFT ROLE**
What expect as a Welder / Operator , you will be a member of a dynamic team of solid professional welders. Interpret metric drawings that use Geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) to setup fixtures, tack and weld components in horizontal and flat positions using welding gun, cutting torches, carbon arc and other fabrication tools (i.e grinder, chisel, tip cleaner) This position requires the ability to complete and pass an American Weld Society (AWS) D.1.1. certification prior to hire as part of the pr-employment/pre-hire process. This is a THIRD SHIFT role. You will also operate CNC machining and robotic equipment occasionally (CNC burning machine, plate roll, machining centers and press brake, etc.). Pay Rate and Schedule: The position includes a wage of $31.18 /hour (this includes a base wage of $29.93 plus the additional $1.25 /hour shift differential) plus a comprehensive Day-One benefits program and on-site health and wellness! Compensation: L07

Openings available on 3rd S hift: Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 p.m.- 6:00a.m. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization.
Top Candidates Will bring: • Welding experience or in the process of completing a welding trade/technical degree
• Ability to read fabrication blueprints/engineering drawings
• Ability to complete and pass American Weld Society (AWS - D.1.1) test as part of the pre-hire process onsite at CAT- BP
Great Candidates Will Also Bring: • Previous experience at Caterpillar Paving Brooklyn Park
• Heavy crane equipment experience
• Prior experience operating CNC machines
• Experience with basic fabrication hand tools and equipment (i.e. grinder, chisel, tip cleaner, measuring devices, hand tools, grinder, and other special deburring tools)
• Experience with cutting torches and/or carbon arc (gouging)
• Understanding of geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Ability to identify and communicate tooling and machine problems
• Ability to read standard work, prints, and write continuous improvement cards
• Ability to utilize computers for production transactions
• Understanding of the metric measurement systems
Essential Functions: Responsible for putting safety first with a goal to prevent all injuries, occupational illnesses, and safety incidents. Weld components per American Welding Society (AWS) standards and engineering/manufacturing prints and documentation. Interpret metric drawings that use Geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) to setup fixtures, tack and weld components in horizontal and flat positions using welding gun, cutting torches, carbon arc and other fabrication tools (i.e grinder, chisel, tip cleaner). Includes use of grinding, flame cutting and arc gouging equipment. May have responsibility for the operation of CNC machining equipment and robots following manufacturing prints and documentation making adjustments for production jobs including; setup and operation of all equipment/cranes with stops, clamps, fixtures, tooling, and offsets to produce consistent quality parts. Use measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for quality using statistical process control (SPC) for documentation. Participate in identifying and troubleshooting machine and tooling problems as needed. Use hand tools, grinders, and other special deburring tools to remove sharp edges from machine surfaces.
