Job Summary:

Sponsor, Growth & Middle Market (SGMM) is responsible for managing the Bank's key Sponsor, High Yield, Mid-Corporate and Mid-Market client relationships and financing products. The coverage teams manage these relationships at a global level. SGMM has a deep understanding of clients from a credit and strategic perspective, enabling it to offer value-additive bank products at the appropriate time. At the center of the client relationship, the Relationship Management teams coordinate the commercial strategy as well as the business lines.

As a Vice President (VP) you will need to be able to identify and close new and repeat business with a designated group of sophisticated existing and new corporate clients and Sponsors as well as smaller domestic mid-market and mid-corporate clients to generate revenue growth in line with our KPIs and cross-selling of multiple products.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with lead bankers in developing a carefully balanced strategic and operational business plan including objectives, product plan, marketing and sales plan, operating policies and performance measurement systems for the group.

• Closely monitor the performance of clients, regularly updating lead bankers and portfolio management team with credit updates as appropriate, and maintain credit-focused lens when evaluating new client as well as cross-sell opportunities.

• Work with lead bankers to implement the strategic and operational plans effectively to ensure that the department's and division's goals and objectives are achieved. Assure that bank policies are uniformly understood and properly interpreted and administered by more junior members of the team.

• Support lead bankers in promoting the sales and marketing activity to the target market decision makers within customer organizations throughout the defined markets. Carefully seek and exploit new market opportunities continuously for the division.

• Alongside lead bankers responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring and the closing of commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing the existing portfolio.

• Represent the bank in targeted business community through active participation in community affairs and ensure the marketing of all the banks' products and services.

• Negotiate terms, structures, loan financing based on risk considerations and presents credits for approval.

• Support the Bank's strong relationship banking culture through ongoing customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.

• Operate as key member of the deal and lead preparation of lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients with efforts to maximize sector penetration and returns, as well as deliver activities in instituting cross-selling initiatives to clients across all areas of the firm and transitioning them into significant sales.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong financial aptitude and broad analytical ability

• Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products, including non-banking financial institutions

• Strong knowledge of the Corporate and Investment Banking environment, understanding of corporate relationships, good negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders

• Adept at all relevant systems and processes, including Deal Screening, DUCC, C-Hub, GCARS, CDL, KYC, etc.

• Mastery of the Bank’s Credit, Banking, and Capital Market products (Bilateral & Syndicated Loans, FX & IR swaps, Capital Markets, Working Capital Solutions, Structured Finance, etc.)

• Sound credit skills, including detailed understanding of cash flow & LBO models

• Senior role on new origination on all aspects of deal, including understanding and closely coordinating with credit on underwriting process, as well as lead banker on cross-sell initiatives

• Knowledge of indentures and credit agreements for corporate legal documentation

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation, pitching, and public speaking capabilities, and business writing, editing, and proofreading

• Knowledge of corporate legal documentation, and fluent in commitment letters and credit agreements

• A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to run deals as primary and secondary banker

• Committed to continued development and growth, as exhibited by regular engagement in training and feedback opportunities, and showcasing the potential/ability to guide junior members of the team

Compensation & Benefits:

The typical base pay range for this role is between $170k - $225k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
