Responsibilities Oaktree is seeking a highly motivated and technical leader to serve as the firm’s lead for AI Technology & Security, enabling the secure and effective adoption of AI across Oaktree. Reporting to the SVP of Technology, this role sits within the Security and Architecture organization, serves as a core member of the firm’s AI Enablement team, and partners closely with the Head of Global Engineering and Product Engineering, who own Oaktree’s AI Program. This is a hands-on engineering and security role, focused on the AI tooling, integration, and security that make firm-wide AI adoption possible.
AI Technology & Adoption • Serve as the firm’s technical point of contact for enterprise AI tooling - including Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Codex, Cowork, and Azure AI Foundry, driving secure and effective adoption across the business. • Diagnose and resolve technical issues that block AI adoption, from authentication and connectivity to model access, performance, and integration. • Evaluate emerging AI capabilities, tools, and vendors, and translate them into practical, supportable options for Oaktree teams. • As part of the AI Enablement team, onboard new AI capabilities, connectors, and features into the enterprise environment.
AI Security & Governance • Serve as the primary security owner for enterprise AI usage, defining and enforcing guardrails for data protection, access, and responsible use. • Design and implement controls for AI data flows, including DLP, sensitivity-label enforcement, prompt and output logging, and monitoring for misuse or data leakage. • Manage identity, access, and authorization for AI platforms, gateways, and connectors in line with Zero Trust and least-privilege principles. • Identify and mitigate AI-specific risks — including shadow AI, model and gateway exposure, data residency, and third-party AI vendor risk.
AI Engineering & Integration • Support the technical plumbing that connects AI to enterprise systems including MCP servers, API integrations, AI gateways, and connectors. • Own the connector and feature implementation strategy — how new AI integrations are prioritized, built, standardized, and rolled out across the enterprise — in partnership with the AI Program’s product owner. • Integrate AI tooling with Oaktree’s enterprise architecture, integration platforms, and identity systems. • Develop reusable patterns, reference integrations, and automation that let teams adopt AI safely and consistently. • Ensure AI integrations meet enterprise standards for security, reliability, observability, and supportability.
Citizen Developer & Solutions Enablement • Partner with citizen developers and business teams across Oaktree to turn ideas into working, governed AI solutions. • Provide guardrails, templates, and technical guidance so business-led AI solutions are secure and maintainable by design. • Review and support business-built AI workflows and integrations, escalating or hardening them where risk warrants.
Collaboration & Program Partnership • Work closely with the Head of Global Engineering and Product Engineering to support and extend the AI Program’s product, training, and roadmap ownership. • Partner with the AI Program’s product owner on tooling, features, and connectors, providing the security and engineering foundation for the program’s initiatives. • Contribute security and technical subject-matter expertise to AI enablement and training efforts owned by the AI Program, in a supporting capacity.
Operational Support & Documentation • Act as the escalation point for complex AI tooling, integration, access, and security issues. • Maintain documentation for AI architecture, security standards, integration patterns, connectors, and support procedures. • Participate in incident response, change management, and risk assessments involving AI systems and data.
Qualifications Required Qualifications for AVP • 6 years working knowledge of modern AI tooling and how it is integrated into an enterprise, including MCP (Model Context Protocol), AI gateways, APIs, connectors, and authentication patterns, with the fluency to enable, integrate, and secure these tools at scale. • Demonstrated experience securing AI, cloud, or SaaS platforms, including identity and access management, data protection/DLP, and governance of third-party services. • Experience integrating enterprise systems via APIs and integration platforms, with a solid grasp of enterprise architecture and identity concepts. Hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Claude, Google Gemini, ChatGPT/OpenAI, Codex, and Microsoft / Azure AI Foundry. • Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including business teams and citizen developers.
