Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for UNLV TV Manager/Producer, College of Urban Affairs [R0153061].
ROLE of the POSITION The Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for the position of UNLV TV Manager/Producer. This position manages UNLV TV and oversees the operation of the video production facility and professional and student video productions. The manager works with campus and community partners in the creation of funded media projects. The UNLV TV manager secures and allocates resources and supervises professional staff members in producing live and recorded video content. The manager tracks personnel and materials for funded video production projects and coordinates all studio and field productions. This includes scheduling crew, procuring equipment, arranging for field shoots, preparing scripts, coordinating post production, and ensuring that projects are delivered to clients. As part of the JMS Media Management Team, UNLV TV’s manager coordinates with the JMS director, plans for facility upgrades and maintenance, and works with assistant business manager to invoice clients. This position also includes teaching one undergraduate video journalism course each semester. The position requires a master’s degree and significant professional experience in broadcast/video production.
PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE Housed in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies seeks to embody the public service ideals of Hank Greenspun, the former editor and publisher of the Las Vegas Sun . The School enrolls more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students. Its academic and professional programs emphasize industry-relevant curricula, critical thinking, cultural proficiency and experiential learning. Students actively participate in the School’s professional media operations: KUNV Public Radio, UNLV TV, and the Rebel Media Group Student Social Media Agency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Master’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Media Studies, or a related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years of experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

SALARY Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
