The Technologist Trainee learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of Radiology through on-the job training under the direction of a registered technologist.   Specific duties include, but are not limited to: • Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety.

• Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements.

• Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met.

• Other job duties as needed.

Position Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

• Successful completion of a Radiology School.

• Certificate from College or Technical School.

• Certified by ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB or ARDMS.

• Continuing education of the structure component to the Radiology exam.

• State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable. 

• CPR certification.

• Valid state driver’s license, if applicable.

• Ability to work at several locations.

• Strong customer service skills.  

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.  

• 5% Travel may be required.

• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment. 

• All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Preferred: • Associate's Degree.

• Certificate from College or Technical School. 

• Completion of a Radiology Program.

• Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced Radiology studies independently

• Technical proficiency using diagnostic imaging equipment

• Possession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer/contract

Physical Requirements: The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, a strong magnetic field and blood/body fluids and infectious disease. • More than 50% of the time:

• Sit, stand, walk.

• Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.

• See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.

• Less than 50% of the time:

• Stoop, kneel or crawl.

• Climb and balance.

• Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
