This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the development and construction of liquid rocket engine test facilities for various spaceflight systems reporting to the Shift Leader. You will demonstrate operational excellence in test stand procedure execution, reviewing, improving, and following test procedures and processes. Working with engineers on planning and executing assembly for complex mechanical systems, you will fabricate, install tubing, and associated valves and components perform rocket engine test stand. We will rely on you to lead rebuilding, troubleshooting and maintenance as required on all mechanical, hydraulic, cryogenic systems and ground support equipment. You will safely work with and around hazardous chemicals and high pressure fluid systems. Finally, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety, achieve cost-savings, and make test stand operations more streamlined and consistent. . This position will directly influence the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Requirements: Anomaly Response • Deploy to any Blue Origin site within 48 hours of an anomaly response request (desired within 24 hours) • Execute high-priority troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration tasks during anomaly and outage events • Support general team missions in priority order:
Primary: Anomaly Response Secondary: Outage Response Tertiary: General Support (CI, Strategic Objectives, Engine Tech Support, Maintenance, Test Stand Support, Launch Support) Work Schedule & Rotation • Base Schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off (8/6 rotation), Monday through Monday on B rotation • Standard Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (subject to change based on operational needs) • Remaining Days Off: May be fully or partially rescinded for mandatory anomaly response, or employees may be requested (non-mandatory) to support a company priority • Overtime: Expected during anomaly response periods; minimized outside of anomalies to keep the team rested and ready
Off-Site Deployments • Deployments may last up to 28 days at a time • Minimum 3 days off provided within each deployment period • No more than 14 consecutive days worked during a deployment • Following a 4-week deployment, a minimum 7-day rest period is provided, extendable up to 12 days upon anomaly resolution
PTO Policy • Pre-planned PTO will be honored • New PTO requests submitted during an active anomaly response will be considered but are likely to be declined unless a strong rationale is provided

Van Horn Specific information Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the West Texas Site in Van Horn, TX offers eligible employee’s additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance. • Minimum Qualifications • 3+ years in rocket engine or jet engine testing, or rocket engine test facility support • Ability to work with test and flight safety critical hardware • Ability to work with standard mechanical tools and shop fabrication equipment • Experience with pneumatic and propellant systems • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics • Ability to lift 40 lbs.; work in adverse weather conditions; climb stairs and ladders • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications • 7+ years’ experience in propulsion facility/system or launch vehicle operation, integration or maintenance • Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Hydrogen, and other cryogenics • Familiar with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
