OCFO-FS Technical Accounting Senior Manager Our Purpose: Our purpose is to build a financial services industry advisory practice for middle market companies whose revenue is between $200 million and $5 billion. We help clients with life-cycle transactions (IPO, SPAC, merger, divesture), implementation of new accounting standards (US GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory rules, and transform or digitize their finance functions. As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in achieving our vision Strategy 2030 of becoming the leading middle market advisory firm. Working across all key financial service sectors, you will develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both internally and externally. Our team understands our middle market clients to give them an exceptional client experience in a field where there are no off-the-shelf recommendations. Baker Tilly is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Accounting Senior Manager to join and expand our FAS practice within the Office of the CFO Accounting Advisory practice. This role will specialize in advising clients on complex technical accounting matters, with a strong emphasis on financial services, digital assets, and fintech sectors. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory frameworks, and will serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs, controllers, and finance leaders navigating accounting complexities, transactions, and emerging financial technologies. Our practice helps clients improve their financial reporting processes so finance adds value to business operations. Our team has professionals with multi-disciplinary experiences that are drawn upon to assist our clients with practical and hands-on support. We have senior team members who have served as Chief Financial Officers, Controllers, financial statement auditors, and financial analysts. We are a high performing team that enjoys learning from one another and serving our clients. Your responsibilities: • Serve as a senior advisor to clients with technical expertise in financial instruments, derivatives, securitizations, digital assets and other complex accounting issues, including: • Consolidation (ASC 810) • Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) • Leases (ASC 842) • Business Combinations (ASC 805) • Current Expected Credit Loss (ASC 326) • Impairments (ASC 350/360) • Share-based payments (ASC 718)
• Lead advisory engagements on accounting policy development, restatements, audit readiness, and financial statement preparation • Supervise, develop and train junior team members on engagements. Participate actively in the team’s project work (i.e. “roll up your sleeves” and work with the team) • Interact directly with partners on matters related to client and engagement management • Strengthen existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities by providing outstanding client service while also expanding our footprints across other functional areas at clients. • Communicate with business owners, executive management, investors, lenders and other sophisticated parties to ensure delivery of exceptional client service • Be accessible and anticipate client needs, questions, and issues • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally • Assist with recruiting activities to include campus recruit
