The Senior Vice President, Media Planning defines, elevates, and scales Tinuiti's Integrated Media Planning craft across the agency. Leading the Media Planning Center of Excellence (COE), this executive owns the methodologies, models, standards, artifacts, and overall planning approaches that drive client performance. Working in close partnership with Strategic Planning leadership, the SVP translates the broader strategic vision into the continued evolution and operationalization of media planning practice.

Operating upstream in senior client conversations, the SVP serves as a senior strategic advisor to priority clients. In this role, the executive helps client leaders navigate complex business and marketing challenges, understand implications for consumers and communications, and determine the necessary Media Planning approaches. The role rests on three equally important pillars: Media Planning craft authority, Media Planning COE leadership, and senior strategic client counsel.

The SVP provides high-level planning counsel on priority client relationships and high-stakes new business opportunities. By establishing clear governance and quality criteria, this role ensures media planning teams deliver fit-for-purpose rigor, strong strategic translation, and impactful execution across diverse client needs.

Additionally, the SVP provides matrixed craft mentorship and development for media planning leaders and embedded planning talent across the organization, strengthening strategic judgment, executive presence, and planning leadership without replacing account-level ownership.

Core Responsibilities: • Media Planning Craft Leadership: Evolve and standardize Tinuiti's integrated media planning craft, methodologies, frameworks, planning models, artifacts, and quality expectations across the agency.

• Media Planning COE Leadership: Lead the Media Planning Center of Excellence (COE) and senior planning leadership team, providing matrixed craft leadership and guidance across embedded planning talent.

• Fit-for-Purpose Planning Models: Define and maintain distinct planning models that calibrate the appropriate level of depth, scope, and rigor based on client needs, complexity, and scale.

• Planning Governance and Quality: Establish clear quality criteria, benchmarks, and review mechanisms to maintain consistent standards of excellence across media plans.

• Planning Leadership and Practitioner Development: Mentor and coach senior media planners and planning leaders, enhancing their strategic capabilities, client influence, and craft mastery.

• Strategic Understanding and Planning Diagnosis: Bring strong strategic judgment to media planning, assessing broader client context to determine optimal planning approaches without claiming direct ownership of client strategy.

• Senior Client Counsel: Establish a proactive, ongoing strategic and Media Planning partnership with senior marketing and media executives across priority clients, focusing on executive advisory and guiding leaders through complex decisions.

• Planning Diagnosis and Intervention: Perform targeted assessments on the appropriateness of Media Planning approaches and guide teams toward better models, resources, and rigor where needed.

• Strategy-to-Planning Translation: Elevate agency standards for translating business, marketing, consumer, and communications strategy into actionable Media Planning decisions, ensuring a clear connection between strategic tasks and channel, audience, and investment roles.

• Cross-Capability Integration: Collaborate with leadership across Strategy, Investment, Measurement, Creative, Commerce, and Analytics to ensure seamlessly integrated planning output.

• Capability Application and Evolution: Partner with Strategic Planning leadership to adopt and embed emerging methodologies, tools, and innovations into repeatable planning practice.

• Selective New Business Leadership: Bring senior planning judgment, authority, and narrative development to key, high-stakes pitches and growth opportunities.

• Thought Leadership and Market Presence: Strengthen Tinuiti's media planning reputation and presence in the New York market through industry connectivity, thought leadership, and talent networks.

Qualifications • 18+ years of experience in media planning, strategic planning, marketing, communications, or related agency roles, with progressive levels of leadership.

• Deep expertise in Integrated Media Planning, including proven mastery of planning frameworks, methodologies, and operational models.

• Strong foundation in marketing and communications strategy, with the ability to interpret complex business objectives and connect strategy to channel activation.

• Strategic capability developed through formal strategic planning training or extensive senior media planning and client leadership experience.
