Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified   Surgical Poster   who will   provide support to the patient in coordinating all aspects of surgical care in a professional and supportive manner. This person serves as   a   practice liaison to patients, physicians,   hospitals,   and other   caregivers   regarding   the patient's surgical care.  

Primary   D uties &   R esponsibilities:  

• Interview   patients referred by the physician for coordination of surgical care.   Explain   the procedure, any related   tests   or treatments to be obtained prior to the procedure, and necessary preoperative consents and authorizations.  

• Coordinates the written verification of all surgical care and related services to the patient, noting all in the   patient's   medical record (EHR)   and   the practice management system.  

• Coordinates the pre-operative schedules for pre-admission testing,   additional   tests,   laboratory work, and required notification.  

• Schedules the appointments according to the individual   physician’s   preferences.  

• Follows through on ensuring that all pre-ops are received in a timely manner and submitted to nursing for review.  

• Completes   surgical   coordination process by providing written documentation of the schedules and instructions to the patient, scanning copies of the documentation into the patient's EMR record.

Qualifications :  

• Minimum 3 years of surgical posting experience.   

• Proficient knowledge of   insurance .  

• Computer   proficiency   and prior experience with   Electronic   Medical Records   (EMR)   system is   a plus.  

• Urology experience is a plus.

Travel:  

• Must have the   ability & willingness   to travel to other   sites as necessary within a   geographic region.  

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:  

• Excellent customer service skills .  

• Attention to detail   and   willingness   to learn .  

• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology .    

• Strong communication   skills, both verbal   & written .  

• Proficient computer software and database skills .  

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment .  

• Very comfortable   asking probing questions to patients .  

• Must   demonstrate   a caring, compassionate, and patient   attitude .  

• Maintain HIPAA compliance .  

• Multitasking and proactive   problem-solving.  

• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute .  

Physical Requirements for the   Job :  

• Able to sit, stand ,   and or   walk   throughout   the day .  

• Intermittently required to stoop, bend, speak ,   and listen .   

Job Type:   Full-Time     Pay Range:   $21.00 - $24.00 per hour   Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level,   and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which the   position is   located ,   in accordance with   applicable laws.     This position has no close date.
