Supplier Quality Engineer Position Summary Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) with strong experience in electronic components and supplier quality management. This role will be responsible for qualifying, monitoring, and improving suppliers of electronic components and assemblies to ensure they consistently meet requirements for quality, reliability, cost, and delivery. The candidate must have a strong understanding of electronic components, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and problem-solving methodologies, with the ability to work effectively with both suppliers and internal engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams. Key Responsibilities • Manage and improve the quality performance of suppliers for electronic components, including PCBs, semiconductors, ICs, connectors, PCIe cables, transceivers, switches, power shelves, sensors, electromechanical components, and related assemblies. • Lead supplier qualification utilizing PPAP/APQC, evaluation utilizing Supplier defect rate / PPM, audits, and ongoing performance monitoring. • Review supplier manufacturing processes, quality systems, process controls, inspection methods, and test capabilities. • Develop and maintain supplier quality requirements, specifications, control plans, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria. • Develop incoming inspection plan, sampling plan and monitor the Incoming inspection defect rate. • Analyze supplier quality data and lead supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root-cause analysis and verification of corrective actions. • Investigate supplier-related quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and DMAIC. • Partner with suppliers to identify process improvements and reduce defects, escapes, rework, and warranty-related issues. • Conduct supplier audits based on applicable quality standards and company requirements.

Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline. • 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related role involving electronic components. • Strong understanding of electronic components, manufacturing processes, and common component failure mechanisms. • Experience with supplier audits, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and quality improvement. • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality-management-system principles. • Experience with PPAP/APQP and supplier qualification processes. • Experience with tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, 5-Why, and Pareto analysis. • Knowledge of IPC standards, JEDEC standards, or other electronic-component standards. • Familiarity with PCB/PCBA, SMT, soldering, connector, cable, or electromechanical manufacturing processes. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and electrical/component requirements. • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and project-management skills. • Ability to travel to supplier sites as required.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $71,000-$102,000 annually . Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.
