Summary of Job Duties: This Access Supervisor manages the day-to-day Patient Access outpatient operations of The Orthopedic North Little Rock and HSC locations Rodney Parham. This position is responsible for the team’s performance meeting and/or exceeding the department standards as developed by the Access Manager and the CABC Director. This position reports directly to the Access Manager. This position will comply with all CABC, Patient Access, Integrated Clinical Enterprise, and UAMS policies and will ensure that direct and indirect reports comply as well. This position will serve as an advocate for enhanced patient access performance within the team. The position is responsible for ensuring the team provides the highest level of customer service and creates an atmosphere that motivates employees to work at optimal efficiency. Qualifications: Min imum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field plus three (3) years of registration and/or billing experience, or  High School diploma/GED plus seven (7) years of registration and/or billing experience, including three (3) years of experience in a healthcare environment.

• Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills in order to successfully interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds

• Well-developed decision-making skills

• Highly motivated and self-directed individual to establish plans of action

Preferred Qualifications:  • Advanced knowledge of Epic system and third-party payer requirements.

Additional Information: Responsibilities: • Supervises department staff by monitoring activities and productivity daily and takes appropriate action to ensure staff consistently meets performance standards.

• Ensures the team meets expectations for work queue productivity, quality, and customer service.

• Ensures staff is educated and conducts themselves in the performance of all duties.

• Seeks out continuing education of regulatory changes and industry standards

• Ensures information is provided to staff timely and based on workload. Documents personnel issues and promotes a balanced a conducive work environment.

• Assists with and contributes to employee evaluations.

• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the assigned Access Coordinators, and Patient Representatives.

• Responsible for knowing and understanding clinic policies/procedures and is able to act on these policies/procedures.

• Schedules, reschedules, coordinates, and cancels appointments using the hospital systems.

• Collects co-pays, deductible, and/or payments for patient account and other cash handling responsibilities.

• Promotes teamwork and models the core concepts of Patient Family-Centered Care (PFCC).

• Conducts and assists with crucial conversations with staff when disagreements occur and when necessary progressive discipline.

• Ensures all department, CABC, ICE, and UAMS policies are followed.
