ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for our first finance hire. Someone we can trust to own Chai's financial operating system end to end.

We are a small company with big demands and complicated books: compute acquisition for frontier AI, data spend across many partners, pharma contracts with revenue recognition and compliance obligations. We need someone to make sense of this all and help our founders focus on what matters most.

You will own the close process, build a trusted view of where our money is going, take over the financial model and cash forecast, own the machinery around all of it, and put in place a reporting cadence that gives leadership what it needs without manufacturing process.

ABOUT YOU

You are a financial generalist sophisticated enough to own the whole machine and hands-on enough to fix any part of it yourself. You are tech savvy and AI fluent, with a bias toward fixing workflows rather than tolerating them.

You've seen early-stage and growth-stage startups from the inside. You've worked alongside great financial minds and have your own ideas about how to do it right. You are detail-oriented, low-ego, and high agency, with a no job too big or too small mindset.
