The Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer ,Interior Seating will lead supplier quality strategy and industrialization for seating systems. This role ensures compliance with Lucid quality, safety, and environmental standards while supporting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives. The position aligns with IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Systems

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Supplier Quality Management System in compliance with IATF 16949 standards.

• Oversee quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and supplier documentation.

Operational & Organizational Planning

• Support implementation of operational plans and objectives within the supplier quality function.

• Define roles, responsibilities, and ensure optimal resource allocation for quality activities.

APQP & PPAP

• Manage APQP for new product launches to ensure defect prevention and product conformity.

• Lead PPAP documentation review and submission to customers, ensuring compliance with Lucid and industry standards.

Quality Control & Audits

• Monitor rejection/rework data and supplier performance metrics; drive corrective actions.

• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure closure of non-conformities.

Measurement & Calibration

• Maintain compliance of measurement equipment and calibration systems across supplier operations.

Customer & Supplier Management

• Act as liaison for customer quality issues and lead 8D problem-solving activities.

• Drive supplier readiness, quality improvement plans, and adherence to standards.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead initiatives in defect reduction, cost optimization, and process capability enhancement.

• Support Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC) methods.

Process Expertise (Highly Preferred)

• MIG Welding: Develop, implement, and optimize MIG welding processes for structural seating components.

• Stamping: Ensure tool readiness, compliance, and process capability for metal stamping operations.

• Coating/Painting: Oversee application process for coatings on metal components to meet durability and aesthetic requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

• Stop production lines when quality or safety risks are identified.

• Analyze processes and equipment for potential quality or safety issues.

• Authorize and maintain procedures, work instructions, and documentation for compliance.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (or related field).

Preferred Certifications:

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Manager of Quality (CMQ/OE).

• Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt.

• IATF 16949 Core Tools Training (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).

Language Requirements

• Fluent in English for technical communication and documentation.

• Spanish proficiency strongly preferred for collaboration with suppliers and local teams.

Experience Requirements

• 5–8 years in supplier quality or industrialization in automotive/manufacturing environments.

• Experience in seating systems, seat-frame engineering, or related interior components highly preferred.

• Proven implementation of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 systems.

• Hands-on expertise with APQP, PPAP, and quality core tools.

• Audit and compliance leadership, corrective action implementation, and supplier development experience.

• Familiarity with stamping, welding, coating, and assembly processes.

• Strong track record in continuous improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma.

Salary Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual) $118,900 — $174,350 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.
