Meet the team: The San Diego Innovation Center is where new technologies, manufacturing processes, and product innovations are transformed from concept into scalable production solutions. Our pilot plant serves as the bridge between research and commercial manufacturing, enabling rapid experimentation, process development, technology transfer, and operational readiness for future growth. As a Staff Planner, you will play a critical role in orchestrating complex pilot plant activities across R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Manufacturing. You will help ensure the right materials, equipment, resources, and schedules are aligned to accelerate innovation while maintaining operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic priorities, optimize resource utilization, and drive successful execution across a highly dynamic environment.
Where you come in: • You develop and maintain integrated production, development, and resource schedules supporting pilot manufacturing, process development, engineering builds, validation activities, and technology transfer programs.
• You serve as the primary planning coordinator across Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to ensure alignment of priorities and execution plans.
• You coordinate material readiness and inventory planning activities to ensure availability of components and supplies required for pilot plant operations.
• You drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning processes, scheduling methodologies, system utilization, and operational efficiency.
• You act as a planning subject matter expert, providing guidance and recommendations that influence operational and strategic decisions across the Innovation Center.
• You facilitate planning reviews and communicate schedule status, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to leadership and project teams.
• You proactively identify scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and material risks, driving mitigation plans to maintain project milestones and operational commitments.
What makes you successful: • You have demonstrated success managing complex planning activities in manufacturing, pilot plant, supply chain, engineering, or product development environments.
• You possess strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and operational execution principles.
• You have the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment without direct authority.
• You are skilled at navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and making sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• You bring strong analytical capabilities with experience using data to identify risks, develop scenarios, and support decision making.
• Your communication and stakeholder management skills enable you to effectively engage technical and operational leaders at multiple levels.
• You have experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent manufacturing planning platforms.
• You demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar applications.
• You have experience supporting new product introduction, technology transfer, process development, or pilot-scale manufacturing activities.
• Your continuous improvement mindset drives process optimization and operational excellence across planning and execution functions.
• You have APICS / ASCM Certifications (CPIM strongly preferred or CSCP)

Travel Required: • 0-5%
Experience and Education Requirements: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience. • At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience
Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
