Where you come in: • You will design and integrate equipment and processes to manufacture R&D scale builds that will eventually scale into commercial processes
• You will develop processes and evaluation systems to support DOEs for R&D Projects.
• You will develop and maintain project timelines and provide updates and feedback to project leadership.
• You lead material characterization, dispensing, and cure-related projects, including root-cause analysis, material qualification, and second sourcing.
• You design and develop fixtures and equipment components required to meet process goals from concept to implementation.
• You will design, document, and optimize new manufacturing processes, assembly steps, and operating procedures for new stations, equipment, and processes within a regulated quality system.
• You demonstrate hands-on process understanding and provide guidance and training to pilot plant operators on engineering-level builds.
• You create and release equipment specifications and drawings, establish calibration, and preventative maintenance requirements.
• You will set up infrastructure for data to be acquired in you measurement and fabrication processes and you will process large data sets to draw conclusions.
• You provide technical oversight and coordinate Research and Development builds within a pilot production facility for multiple projects and project teams.
• You implement, characterize, and optimize processes, mechanical tests, and fixtures/jigs for assembly, inspection, and test through the implementation of measurement systems, part inspections, MSA, and capability analysis.
• You identify process risks and track mitigations through standard methods.
• You assist in scaling up equipment and processes from prototype to pilot to full-scale manufacturing, providing design and assembly requirements within the scope determined by business and schedule needs.
• You exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
What makes you successful: • You have the ability to run self-directed projects, maintain timelines, transfer technology, and execute projects in an R&D environment.
• You can deal with ambiguity and uncertainty, and you are willing to try new and challenging things.
• You have experience with operating and programming signal processing equipment &/or automated liquid handling robotics platforms and complex laboratory systems.
• You have proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
• You have previous direct involvement in the medical device industry.
• You are proficient in the use of SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• You are familiar with data analysis methods and analysis software, with experience in JMP preferred.
• You are detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
• You have excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
• You have knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing processes and designs.

Experience and Education Requirements: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master’s degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.
