Seeking a Senior Manufacturing & Test Engineer to bridge the gap between R&D sensor system prototype builds and scaling for manufacturing. In this senior role, you will own the end-to-end production architecture including manufacturing and test equipment design, procurement, build, commissioning and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in manufacturing & test equipment and extensive hands-on lab experience scaling hardware products from prototype to production.
Responsibilities • Equipment Lifecycle Ownership: Design, procure, build, commission, and troubleshoot custom manufacturing equipment and automated test setups. • Bridge R&D to Production: Transition early-stage sensor system prototype designs into stable, scalable, and repeatable manufacturing processes. • Test & Build Automation: Develop and deploy custom mechanical fixtures, electrical test beds, and automated scripts for hardware validation. • Vendor & Procurement Management: Source, evaluate, and manage external equipment vendors and component suppliers to meet strict delivery timelines. • DFx Integration: Partner closely with R&D teams to implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) feedback early in the cycle. • Documentation: Author comprehensive equipment manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and calibration guidelines for production teams.
Required Qualifications • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline AND 1+ years in hands-on engineering experience scaling hardware products from low-volume prototypes to active production lines OR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline AND 3+ years of experience in hands-on engineering experience scaling hardware products from low-volume prototypes to active production lines. • Experienced on manufacturing equipment, mechanical assembly tools, data acquisition (DAQ) systems, and standard electrical lab instruments. • Experienced successfully building, bringing up, and debugging complex electro-mechanical hardware systems from scratch. • Experience managing the complete equipment lifecycle, from initial drafting and sourcing to final factory floor deployment. •
Preferred Qualifications • Experience working i n a startup or fast-paced environment; comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and wearing multiple engineering hats. • Experience calibrating or verifying sensor systems (e.g., optical, thermal, pressure, acoustic, or motion sensors). • Experience with writing test and control scripts using Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or MATLAB. • Experience testing devices utilizing I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, or Ethernet communication protocols. •
Physical Requirements • Physical duties for this position include but are not limited to, ability to lift less than 25 lbs independently, 2 times per day; carry 10-25 lbs, 2 times per day. • Visual abilities to include near, far, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to distinguish basic colors. • Hearing requirements include the ability to hear and respond to instructions, communicate effectively in loud areas (pier/dock, warehouse). • Other physical tasks include occasional prolonged standing/walking; use of hands for basic /fine grasping and manipulation, repetitive motion, reaching above and below the shoulders, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping. • Other occupational requirements include talking, traveling, working around others, and with others. Will be exposed to dust or other irritants and electrical/mechanical/power equipment hazards. • Physical duties are subject to change.
Compensations Range: The expected base salary range for this position is between $128,200.00 - $192,400.00 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
