About this role

May Mobility is transforming cities through autonomous technology to create a safer, greener, more accessible world. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, May develops and deploys autonomous vehicles (AVs) powered by our innovative Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology that literally reimagines the way AVs think.

Our vehicles do more than just drive themselves - they provide value to communities, bridge public transit gaps and move people where they need to go safely, easily and with a lot more fun. We’re building the world’s best autonomy system to reimagine transit by minimizing congestion, expanding access and encouraging better land use in order to foster more green, vibrant and livable spaces. Since our founding in 2017, we’ve given more than 500,000 autonomous rides to real people around the globe. And we’re just getting started. We’re hiring people who share our passion for building the future, today, solving real-world problems and seeing the impact of their work. Join us.

Job Summary

It’s an exciting time to be joining a passionate team committed to bringing safe, accessible, and sustainable autonomous vehicle technology to communities. May Mobility continues to grow through strategic ridehail partnerships, bringing autonomous mobility to more riders through the platforms they already use.

We are looking for a Business Operations lead to join our team immediately. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, product, and commercial growth — responsible for identifying, scoping, and planning expansion opportunities based on market demand, revenue potential, and May Mobility's current and long-term operational capabilities. You will play a critical role in shaping where and how we grow.

Key Responsibilities

Demand & Expansion Planning

• Identify and evaluate new geographic and vertical markets based on demand signals, revenue potential, and May Mobility's technical and operational readiness

• Build frameworks and models to prioritize expansion opportunities across ridehail, government, and commercial sectors

• Translate market intelligence into actionable growth roadmaps aligned with near-term and long-term company strategy

• Understand how to use Gridwise and or similar products to gauge market opportunity

• Respond to RFPs and Proposal writing experience

PUDO (Pick-Up / Drop-Off) Optimization

• Partner closely with the Product team to scope, analyze, and refine PUDO strategy across existing and prospective service areas

• Analyze ridehail demand patterns to inform PUDO placement, frequency, and operational design

• Identify gaps and opportunities in current PUDO infrastructure and recommend improvements that drive ridership and revenue

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as a key analytical resource across a broad set of stakeholders including the VP of Ridehail, Revenue Director, Government Sector Sales Manager, Technical Program Manager, Product, and Autonomy (Mapping) teams

• Synthesize inputs from across the organization to build unified demand and expansion plans

• Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and executive audiences

Revenue & Market Analysis

• Able to actively manage the RFP process

• Develop demand forecasting models that incorporate ridership trends, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and autonomous capability timelines

• Quantify revenue potential of expansion markets and help prioritize resource allocation accordingly

• Track and report on key demand generation metrics and KPIs

Technical & Product Fluency

• Develop and maintain a working understanding of May Mobility’s autonomous vehicle product, our ridehail partner platform integrations, and the supporting systems.

• Serve as a credible translator between technical teams (engineering, product, operations) and non-technical stakeholders, including partner-facing teams.

• Capture structured product feedback from the field and channel it into the Product and Engineering teams—improving the feedback loop over time.

Cross-Functional Execution

• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Product, and Account Management to ensure site-level commitments are met and issues are resolved at the right level.

• Partner with the Account Management team so that site-level performance signals inform the broader partner relationship, and so commercial commitments translate cleanly into site-level execution.

Issue Resolution & Escalation

• Serve as the first point of contact for site-level performance issues; triage, prioritize, and drive them to resolution with a solutions-first mindset.

• Document patterns in escalations and feed them back into systemic improvements—playbooks, runbooks, and process changes.

Skills and Abilities

Success in this role typically requires the following competencies:

• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem solving—able to break ambiguous, multi-variable problems into testable parts.

• Learning agility—able to pick up new technical and product concepts quickly and put them to use.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders without losing the thread.

• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and making sound decisions with incomplete information.

• Bias to action and high personal ownership over site outcomes.
