Sr. Inventory Coordinator

About this role

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel and our customers to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Spring House, PA Schedule: 1st Shift/ M-F 6-8am - 3:30pm (flexible start time) 8 hours -30 min lunch break) Hourly Rate : $20.00 - $23.50

What we’re looking for    ·       Education: High School Diploma or GED required ·       Experience : 2+ years' experience in material handling/inventory replenishment

  Preferred Qualifications:    • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

• Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing

• Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can-do attitude

• High regard for safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures

• Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

• Ability to communicate effectively with both the customer and internal contacts

• Must be able to lift 50lbs

How you will thrive and create an impact    Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role, you will:

• Manage inventory control, stock movement, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reporting.

• Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and ensure accurate inventory records.

• Process inventory requests and coordinate on-site and off-site inventory movements.

• Provide customer service support, including order entry, reporting, metrics tracking, and issue resolution.

• Perform purchasing activities such as backorder management, expediting, quote management, invoice reconciliation, and vendor coordination.

• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including shipment processing, documentation, and package delivery.

• Handle hazardous materials and ensure compliance with shipping and packaging requirements.

• Manage consigned, non-consigned, customer-owned, and third-party inventory.

• Interface with customers, suppliers, purchasing teams, facility leaders, and plant managers.

• Utilize SAP, Citrix, ChemSW, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, and other customer-specific systems.

• Maintain documentation, records, SOPs, and support change management initiatives.

• Collaborate with sales teams and manufacturer representatives to support business operations.

• Drive process improvements and develop programs that enhance service efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.

• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
