Shift: The regular hours for this position are day shift.

Job Description: The Sr Global Service Center Equipment Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving equipment utilized across FormFactor's Global Service Centers (GSCs). This role ensures equipment reliability, supports service and repair operations, drives continuous process improvements, and provides technical expertise for both commercial supplier equipment and FormFactor-developed repair and assembly tools.

Working closely with Global Service Center teams, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and equipment suppliers, this position provides troubleshooting support, manages spare parts and capital equipment activities, delivers training, and ensures equipment compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Support & Reliability • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment utilized within Global Service Centers worldwide.

• Diagnose equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.

• Identify, source, and coordinate ordering and shipment of replacement parts to support ongoing equipment reliability.

• Partner with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues and coordinate repairs, upgrades, and service activities.

Equipment Installation, Qualification & Upgrades • Support the installation, qualification, validation, and upgrade of supplier-provided equipment used in service center operations.

• Coordinate equipment modifications and enhancements to improve performance, productivity, and service quality.

• Develop and execute equipment acceptance and operational readiness plans.

FormFactor Custom Equipment Support Provide technical ownership and support for custom FormFactor service and repair equipment, including: • Probe Card Universal Repair Station (PC URS)

• Sequoia Assembly Tool (SAT)

• Precision Assembly Tool (PAT)

• Single Outlet Replacement Tool (SDRT)

• New equipment builds and deployments.

• Global installations and startup support.

• Equipment qualification and validation activities.

• Upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement efforts.

• User training and technical documentation support.

Training & Knowledge Transfer • Develop and deliver equipment operation, troubleshooting, safety, and preventative maintenance training programs.

• Train Global Service Center personnel on equipment best practices and standard operating procedures.

• Facilitate training related to Assembly & Test (A&T) process improvements and equipment enhancements.

• Create and maintain technical work instructions, training materials, and support documentation.

Capital Equipment Management • Track and manage Capital Authorization Request (CAR) activities related to Global Service Center equipment.

• Coordinate procurement, shipment, installation, and deployment of approved capital equipment.

• Maintain equipment inventories and lifecycle tracking records.

Audits & Continuous Improvement • Conduct Global Service Center equipment audits to assess: • Equipment condition and utilization

• Spare parts availability

• Repair process effectiveness

• Preventative maintenance compliance

• Safety and regulatory requirements

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization across global service operations.

• Drive corrective and preventive actions resulting from audit findings.

• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve service center efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience | Required

Pay Range: $90,500.00 - $118,755.00

Pay Range Explained: This role in Livermore, California pays between $90,500.00 and $118,755.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You’ll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
